ERRR hang on a minute! This is a picture of Barnes AFTER being tackled by that other idiot on the deck. Thier player fouled Ashley Barnes. This picture is incredibly biased in favour of Burnley. The ball isnt even in the picture. Any tosser sitting behind their keyboard thinking that Barnes has stamped on the player with no intent to win the ball is a complete MORON. At the very, very worst Barnes should have got a yellow! The other player should have almost certainly been red carded not just for fouling Barnes but for shouting right up at his face when he was on the floor. And if it was a 50/50, then BOTH players should have been carded. How on earth Ashley has got a red and the other tool has walked away scott free is a complete diabolical SHAMBLES. AN UTTER, UTTER DISGRACE.

Totally agree!

From the West Lower it looked like Barnes was the victim of a dangerous tackle and the Burnely players were trying to pull him to his feet and influence the ref against booking their player. We cheered when the red card was produced as we thought it was for the Burnley player. I think about 20 fans all around me fell silent in total disbelief when it was actually for Barnes. The ref, lino in front of the West Stand and the 4th official should never be allowed to officiate at this level again. They were dire and a disgrace to the game.

Let's be clear here, one thing that is certain is that hustpierpoint seagull is a f***ing moron

I think you'll find that he's a lot worse than that.

Look, the Burnley player dived in two footed on Barnes. Seeing him coming, Barnes jumped to avoid having his leg broken. He then landed on the Burnley player, who grabbed him by the throat and shouted in his face.
Round me, people were cheering when the red card was shown, we all thought it was the Burnley player who'd been shown it and quite right too. Then Barnes made the long walk...
And Hustpierpoint - until you can be bothered to get to games yourself, you can stop making uneducated criticisms from behind your keyboard. You didn't see what happened, so shut it.

Exactly what I thought, looked late & 2 footed from their guy, I genuinely thought it was 10 v 10. Will have to wait for replays as from the East we all thought their guy had gone.

That ref today was pathetic, not just for the red cards. At least one burnleyplayer should of gone. Before the Barnes incident we should of have been given a clear corner which would of prevented the whole thing. Decisions that went our way were utter bollocks too. Elabd backhealed the ball off yet we were given a corner. i could go on. Having said that we had alot of positives today. AEA was class on his return. We showed real class with 9 men and should of nicked a point. And the atmoshere was crazy. Can't wait for Saints game!

5 minutes in and we have a man sent off for punching someone. :lolol:

I think you're a complete wind-up merchant- if not, you're just a total waste of space and we don't really want you as a supporter of the Albion. But for others who weren't at the game, one thing that a lot of the footage/aftermath won't let you see was the overall reaction after both events. With the Vincelot incident, neither team made a fuss (generally players who feel they have been punched will drop to the floor). There was no confrontation of the referee from Burnley players. And neither team seemed to know what the referee was up to. When he gave the decision, Vincelot couldn't believe it.

With the second one, I look forward to the replay. I'm certain it was a Burnley player lunging in on Barnes, with the reaction being the Burnley team surrounding the referee. The Brighton crowd went mad, and celebrated when the red was shown- so certain were we that a Burnley player had been sent off.

One further note on the performance of the referee. For those who said the players deserve it, fine. If the players committed said offences, fine. But two incidents occurred before and after the sending offs. After the first sending off, Tano was taken out with a two-footed, studs raised challenge. Nothing. Not even a booking. After the second sending off, El-Abd was involved in a tussle with a Burnley player, with the Burnley player eventually pushing him in the face. Nothing. Both these examples were "committed" by Brighton players resulting in sending offs. I don't necessarily demand correct decisions from referees. I do demand consistency.

No discipline issues poyet? You just walked down the f***ing tunnel.
You are a complete cock of the highest order. Amazing that you are so intelligent you can make all these posts from your bedroom. Try going to a game and see what actually happened, instead of jumping on the bandwagon. Mind you, I suppose "fans" like you are in teh best place for a home game. Try attending a game now and again, or keep your gob shut if all you have to go by is the radio.

Correct their player did foul Barnes and should have got a red for that. Barnes pulled out of the challenge. I think you will find the reason Barnes got red, was because he stamped on teh player as he got up. We was right in line with it, and a lot of people saw it. Barnes had to go, but so did their player, who didn't even get spoken to by the ref and thats why I think Poyet lost it.

Any chance we can ban this idiot. He listens to the radio and make lots of stupid descions and posts based on no fact at all. In fact it sounds very much like todays referee, could it be he was posting on NSC and not watching the game hence the baffling decions made today?

Excellent post which I totally agree with...the fls of course will just concentrate on the 2sending off's which is a shame because there was so much else tht needs to b questioned
