what can Beckham offer, besides route one from the right wing?

Route one from the right wing! That'll be what's known in the coaching manual as a cross. Apparently, if they are accurate your strikers can score goals from them.

i thought you wanted creativity though? SWP deliveres more of that than predictable Beckham with his metronome swinging right foot passes to the heads of centre backs.

now if you wanted a bit of bravado, then Beckham might help. dont think that would have done much agains that lot tonight though, he'd just have been a scalp from them to kick.

Were you watching the game? What creativity did SWP offer other than a variety of ways to lose the ball.

I completely agree. But Beckham is not the answer.

So who is then? If he is the best option currently available then have him on the bench.

England had, I think SEVEN free kicks in dangerous areas last night. EVERY one of them was SHIT.

If DB had been on the bench last night, I for one would have been delighted to see him on for the last 25 minutes.

Agreed.

Ashley Young once again failed to deliver. Not sure I saw one accurate cross from him. What disappointed, and was probably down to Capello, was the fact that at no time did I see Young and Johnson switch wings to mix it up. The other thing was with Barry not playing like he can, should have been the opportunity to put Wilshere on.

Having said that, the squad was hit with many injuries. Surprised to see Terry pull out at the last minute, not like him!!!!

how many fouls did crouch and davies give away when attempting to win headers from long balls forward?

i can definitely see how a man whose only asset is to launch an aerial ball would have helped improve us attacking wise :jester:

and as for a future call up - no thanks. the next competitive game we have should see defoe, bent, lennon, milner and walcott all available. possibly even zamora. take six of your best attacking options out of any team and it will obviously struggle creatively
