I often take a day or so and usually the tinted specs come off and I realise that perhaps we didn't have a case around an offside decision or a penalty that didn't go our way.

This though? The more you look at it the more abhorrent it becomes. To save face and avoid any degree of acceptance and culpability the FA have driven a potential dagger into the hearts of our promotion campaign. Ok so let's take the Boro game on the chin and move on.

But we can't move on. Because their incompetence has hamstrung us.

And they know it. They know they're wrong but can't possibly let that prancing show-off Mike Dean look as if he could ever get something so monumentally wrong.

It's appalling. It's absolutely unforgivably appalling.

Spot on. He made loads of bad desitions, mainly against Brighton. It's scandalous that he gets away with it. Bloody FA

While we all have a sense of injustice we really need to move on and concentrate on what we have left, I'm sure CH and the squad have.
The squad have to, I don't.

Well I'm glad you are not playing.
If I was playing then of course I'd be professional and get over it, but I'm not being paid to get over it, I'm a fan and I can wallow in self pity if I like. And if I was playing, the state of my mind would be the least of our worries.

we have a top class squad of players capable of winning any game in the division.
Our team is a lot weaker without Stephens. The two outfield players we're least able to replace are Stephens and Kayal, and the stupid officials have robbed us of one.

Well I will leave you to wallow in self pity and look at all the negatives surrounding the club while I will look at the positives, maybe Sidwell will show his true class, Skalak be given an opportunity to play down the middle.

God, folk are going on as if we have lost before we have even kicked a ball. It's up to the whole squad to step up and I truly think that collectively they are good enough to complete the task in hand.

Red card or not it's happened and no one is going to have a change of mind.

Well I'm glad you are not playing. The red card was never going to be turned over, yes it was a wrong decision but it's time to get over it and be positive we have a top class squad of players capable of winning any game in the division.

Absolutely, lets win it for Dale. Lets win it for all of us.

Worse case of injustice I have seen for a long long time in football.

To get it wrong live is one thing, to get it wrong when reviewing clear evidence is just corrupt.

Bozza's effort above + edna's screen shot from the wham man u game serve as a damming confirmation that there is NO consistency from referees in this game ...........i honestly wonder how these three examples can be reacted to by refs in such differing ways , the appeals panel must be corrupt.....!! did we take a decent lawyer with us ....looks like Bozza or Edna were capable of making a very good point.

(No, we probably don't need another thread but this took me a good 5 minutes and I don't want my effort to go under-appreciated)

Hope you don't mind, I've lifted this to put on my facebook.

Sometimes - not often - I give the benefit of the doubt to Joey Barton and think that maybe he could have got away with a yellow card for that challenge because of the doubt about whether the way he landed was unavoidable. However, as that whole thing was just a continuation of a foul which he'd committed with a great deal of enthusiasm it was definitely a booking at least. And as he could have had at least one - I'd argue two - other yellows in the same game, the upshot is the same.

In 30+ years of watching the Albion, I genuinely feel for the first time that this week we've been cheated. Other big decisions I can usually see enough of the opposing view to understand it - but on this one, the red and appeal result are indefensible.

The card system is a failure. You can a yellow for nearly breaking a players leg and the same punishment for removing your shirt whilst celebrating a goal. Needs a complete review and over haul IMO from the booking system all the way through to the appeal process.

On DS's challenge alone they *could* (albeit it in some parallel universe) make a case for a card being shown (yellow, as MD had in his hand), but obviously it's the inconsistency that riles a lot of people – and quite rightly.

So basically, it seems that Dale has been sent off because a player from the other teams wasn't wearing 'proper' shinpads.

That's just mental!
