RIP - I saw Hawkwind in Worthing back in about 1984/5 so not sure if this was just before Nik left.

Around the same time I saw Nazareth and sadly we lost Dan McCafferty earlier this week.

I reckon a few might think back to Nick Turner with that post.

Never saw him with the mighty Hawks as he was sacked just before the 1977 Spirit of the Age Tour, think he came back for Guest Performances now & then. Given his drug consumption I'm amazed he made it 1982. Wrote some of their classic tunes in the early 1970's. Oh well just Dave Brock left now...

Sad news indeed. RIP.

My first gig ever was Hawkwind at Worthing Assembly Hall, and to this day, their live album from 1973, Space Ritual, remains one of my favourites albums ever; tracks like Master of the Universe, Brainstorm, and Lord of Light are absolutely brilliant, and I still love listening to them today.

Never saw him with Hawkwind but saw him a few times with Inner city unit as they supported the Damned for a while. 82 is a good knock for someone with his lifestyle.
