OK - who has been there?

We've taken our Youth Football Team to Holland the past 2 years (as Under 15s and Under16s)

Both times have been to Valkenburg and had a great time - just fancy a different town.

The boys will be 16/17 next Easter - so will want a fair amount of freedom - is it safe, and will there be enough to keep them amused?

Thanks NSC

Not been to Nijmegen but most places (including Amsterdam) are safe. I have been meaning to check out Nijmegen but not yet. If I do I'll try to let you know how I found it.

It may be a bridge to far!

It's still a bridge and nothing more humorous came to mind. Never let the truth get in the way of a smart remark. Oh! That's wrong too.

Been there a few times to watch NEC.

Oldest town in Holland.

I know someone who used to play for NEC and now plays for an amateur team in the city.

Send me a PM if you'd like me to put you in touch with him.

Lived near there for 3 years back in the 80's and really liked Nijmegen its a typical Dutch town with live revolving around the main square. There used to be a couple of small brothels near the bridge and although a bridge too far was Arnhem the filming to place in Nijmegen as the bridge in Arnhem is too new.

Arnhem is only a few miles away with the museum and a zoo and you can always go to the cinema as they used to only subtitle English speaking films and serve beer which you could take to your seats.

I did the Nijmegen marches back in 2003 - it seemed a nice place. A few seedy spots and quite a few sex shops, but nevertheless nice.

I enjoyed Arnhem - goig to the 'bridge too far' and to the museums, but I guess not all young people would.
