I'm Nigel myself and I have always hated my name. The only saving grace was that it was marginally more street than Rupert... then along came the Palace connection.
Names are like fashion. It will become popular again in a few decades time.
Girls names like Elsie were considered very old fashioned when I was young, now I know of several under 5s called Elsie.
It's the start of the slippery slope, I tell ye.
Same with Gary (assume because of Gary Glitter) dying out.

I re-carpeted his flat in London years ago that he had rented out, apparently it took him ages to get the tenants out, and when they left they had smeared the words East End Scum all over his walls with poo poo....

Would you swap it for Rodney and the decades of "you plonker" comments I have had or "Rodney Marsh, wasn't he a footballer or Cricketer?" Believe me, Nigel sounds pretty decent.
But not Harold. Harry now is the rather fey deminuitive of Henry....
Harry has always been the shortened version of Henry or Harold. My grandfather was a Harry.
