Our very own Donald Trump, complete with his own cult members.

Politics is certainly in a sorry state.
Nigel is hardly a trump, I wouldn't call it a cult, he is way to popular to be in that zone, I see him more of a revelation, that Britain hasn't seen for years.

The record of MEPs was particularly interesting on BBC QT

UK MEPs appeared on the show 50 times over a period 2009-2019, but none were politicians from pro-EU parties.

In total, 45 Ukip and three Conservative MEPs featured. Infact the nicotine stained Trump fanboy appeared 22 times as a Ukip MEP, and once after switching to the Brexit Party.

When you consider the level of bias across the media its amazing the 2016 was such a slim win.

Expect a lot more Farage now his party has 0.8% of UK MPs. Its good measure of how common extreme xenophopia in the average UK constituency
It’s a good measure of how much certain people in society hold over our media.

Tells you so much of how Britain is manipulated into committing self harm every 5 years, opaquely funded think tanks, Murdoch puppets, client journalists and general grifters.

I know Labour haven’t been to everyone’s liking so far but the continuous assault from the right wing media in incredible after just 5 months in office.
But our media is balanced. This is the lefty BBC that is giving a platform to the left -- sorry, hard left, far left.

Reform are flying.
Nigel will have to be caught in bed with no brainer rayner, for any impact at all on their popularity.
You're just a pawn. Like Trump he's not interested in voters, only himself

You noticed that too. Every other frequently appearing Question time guest (including many far less frequent than him) had managed to make those appearances as a result of serving over 30 years as a democratically elected member of the house of commons.

Whilst he's managed to appear 36 times even before he was elected to Westminster for the first time in 8 attempts, 6 months ago. Still, i'm sure there's an explanation ???

Interestingly, a long way behind, the next two non sitting MPs in appearance terms after Nigel's 36 appearances are those well known Spectator Columnists and GB News/Talk TV stalwarts Isabel Oakeshott and Julia Hartley-Brewer with 13 appearances each.

That's also an interesting list

NameAppearancesPublication
Isabel Oakeshott13Various (Spectator, Daily Mail, GB News, Talk TV)
Julia Hartley-Brewer13Various (Spectator, Telegraph, Talk Radio/Talk TV)
Kate Andrews12IEA/Spectator
Tim Stanley12Telegraph/Spectator
Camilla Tominey10Express/Telegraph/Spectator
Anne McElvoy8Economist/Politico
Theo Paphitis8N/A businessman
Fraser Nelson7Spectator/Telegraph
Melanie Phillips7The Times
Merryn Somerset Webb7Money Week
Peter Hitchens7Mail on Sunday/Spectator
Piers Morgan7(Various ITV, Talk TV, Daily Mail)
Zanny Minton Beddoes7The Economist

There's probably an explanation for that too

On the plus side those to the left haven't had Owen Jones letting the side down too often.

On the minus side

Jesus wept ....

You described a level of devotion that is unaffected by his actions and behaviours (aside from the example you offered) - it sounds fairly Trumpy to me , and sounds fairly culty too.

I agree he is a revelation that Britain hasn't seen for years. Aside from the positive connotations around the word revelation of course.

More of a grifter that Britain hasn't seen for years.

Assuming you are a supporter of his, how have these revelations of him working for a company to ease the progress of economic migrants to the UK affected your view of him?

James O'Brien's book shines an interesting light on this, ending with Brexit.

Labour are certainly up against it, which makes you wonder why they don't present themselves more effectively. As unfair as it is being held to a different standard than the Tories, you surely have to play your cards as they are played.
Labour have deported over 10,000 illegal migrants since the election, that about 50 Rwandas.

Yet they don't shout about it. Its the opposite of Johnson that shouted about everything, yet achieved very little

Tory government after Tory government achieved very little in terms of immigration whilst telling people they were the only party that could deal with the issue.

The biggest mystery about the whole thing is why people continued to believe them.

Although to be fair they do seem to have come to the realisation that the Tories are full of shit - Now they have decided that Reform and the Grifter are the answer.

You see him as a revelation and he sees you as a mug. A pawn to be used as he sees fit.

The Tories who run the BBC play a very clever game. Their political coverage is heavily biased towards the right while they publish lots of stories that might be considered culturally progressive. That's why so many people accuse them of left wing bias.

What a grifter, how does anyone belive this charlatan let alone support him.

I note that RBR has declined to answer my question about his latest exposure and chose instead to try and deflect the discussion toward Starmer. A very Farage way of going about things but you need to be a bit dim to fall for it.
