I was just on the BBC website and came across that Burton Albion lost lastnight to cambridge who go through to the conference final against Exeter.

Clough has been there for years and took them up to the conference and by all means has done a real good job at Burton. He has been linked to lots of league jobs and im sure has had ample oppotunity to progress into the league.

I was just wondering if anyone knows why he has spurned the chance, his name often crops up with league jobs.

Has he said he doesnt want the fame and fortune, due to always living in his dads shadow....it seems weird to me.

?

It has been recorded on many an occasion that he had no desire to manage in higher grade football. One of the main reasons was he was not prepared to move away from the Burton area where he lives. It was recorded he almost was swayed last season in respect of the Port Vale job, but obviously resisted the temptation!! Not a bad judge of things.

Thanks.

So there is the possibility of it happening aslong as its local to nottinghamshire....

Maybe taking mansfield back into the league would be a nice challenge mr clough?

He's always linked with jobs in and around the Midlands/Leicestershire area.

Don't be suprised to see him linked with the Leicester job when Holloway gets sacked either.

He won't go though

He is one of a rare breed of manager who appear to enjoy being with one club, regardless of any other opportunities that may cross their path, he is a sort of non-league Dario Gradi.
