Makes sense. Other than Solly, how many out-and-out right wingers do we have? Sure some can fill in but lacking in specialists. Missed Solly a lot at the end of the season..
It seemed that way at the end of the season, but I suspect that with a little more time Buonanotte will get better in that position, while Sarmiento can also play there, Joao Pedro [which, I've been informed, is his middle name] possibly too.
I think both Mitoma and Enciso are diminished in playing on the right.
Think we're covered across all the attacking positions for next season.

I'm not sure about Buonanotte as a wideman due to his apparent lack of pace. Sarmiento is a possibility. Pedro normally plays centrally or on the left, doesn't he?

Buonanotte doesn't have devastating pace, but I think you'll find that his apparent lack of pace is just that: apparent. Pedro does normally play left and centre, but has also played on the right a fair bit too.

So the news above the picture is new but the picture is old if so where is the quote from about more confident thanks.
The screenshot is from an Athletic story in 2021 , the first rumours - see the start of this thread - were in 2020. The new (2023) “links” to the player who has been at Fiorentina for 2 years scoring 13 times in Seria A is via @Bozza ‘s post at #984.

An interesting article that claims we also went in for
Sofyan Amrabat.

Thought he looked decent against West Ham.

Not sure about that. I think his strength, is his strength in possession, he’s certainly not out paced anyone yet, and I wouldn’t say he is explosive either, but he is a tidy player, and doesn’t give the ball away cheaply (exception Forest away). I think he’ll be better in a more central role.

Similar profile to Bernardo Silva at City. On the wing for skill, ball retention, interchanging of positions coming in from wide to receive the ball. Rather than going 1v1 with defenders.

I think he’d also make a good number 10 with his technical ability

Definitely. There's no way he's a winger. Just getting minutes there in the absence of Solly. Closer to a sort of James Rodriguez style player. Slowish with a sweet clip of a left foot. He was properly getting stuck in against city and seems to be growing in confidence - I wouldn't be surprised to see him do a full Alexis at some point and play as a 6, 8 or 10

This is likely BS? I'd say we have a number of players who can play in this position already.

Im surprised other clubs haven't come in for him. Fans from other teams are always saying how good ours and Brentford's scouting is and how their clubs need to try and pick these players up before us. Gonzalez is a player that both us and Brentford have been serious about signing, so there's obviously some metric that ticks the boxes for our scouts, yet no one else has come in for him.

I wonder why we are not back in for him ? Seems like a no brainer at that price and if Brentford can afford his wages so can we.

This guy ran the conference league final last season.

Maybe we were, but Kudus is first choice. Hard to fit them both in
I know which I would prefer ;)

A top level attacking mid who has played at a decent level.all his career including for argie and is mates with maccer.

Or an overhyped bin man league player !

Nico is a left winger where we have ample players already (Mitoma and Adringa).

Kudus can play in several positions, so fits us better out of the two. Competition for Solly and can also play as a 10, striker or cm.

Looks like he’s going to Brentford, €30m bid has just been made…
Fiorentina and the player reportedly don’t seem keen, even with the latest €40m offer:

This bit from that article is interesting though:

“The situation may change if a bigger Premier League club knock on Fiorentina’s door, but they will need an even higher offer to persuade the Tuscans to part ways with one of the best players in their team.“

We’ve been rumoured to have been in for him before. Could he be a left footed attacking option again now that Palmer is probably staying at Citeh and Kudus wanted more money?
