Is this a South American with multiple owners/people with a financial interest in him?

In brief, a complicated transfer

Or are we just dealing with Stuttgart?

Dont think so. Stuttgart probably had to deal with some of that but once a player enters the EU its becomes very difficult to bypass the third-party ownership rules. FIFA doesnt allow TPO but in South America they've found loopholes (like owning the sponsorship rights rather than the player itself) but with EUs own additional rules any kind of TPO gets very difficult to pull off. Probably just negotiating with Stuttgart.

This story all smacks of last summer and the fact that half of NSC seemed to think the Nunez deal was in the bag, and look what happened then.

He will be one of several players of interest to us but until the club formally announce anything then I'm not going to worry about Gonzalez or whoever's name gets mentioned.

I also think with the Copa America going on we won't see any activity until the end of the tournament.

In brief, agent does an acceptable deal with Brighton then touts his player to other clubs for best and final, this deal won’t happen for us!

Looking at his player video clips he seems similar to Maupay with perhaps a bit more pace , without knowing anything at all about him it's really difficult to make comparisons but from what I see with my own eyes I would be much happier getting Wellbeck deal done , perhaps a 2 year deal may clinch it .

Any player that represents their country at the top level must be doing something right so if we do manage to sign him I hope I'm flamed at a later date for my apparent lack of enthusiasm for Speedy .

Agreed, we don’t often get players that we are touted weeks or months in advance to be interested in. Normally only gets media coverage when it is pretty well a done deal. Not holding my breath on this one.

Me neither . . . . but if he's been playing in Germany maybe he has a NDP when it comes to looking for clubs he'd like to play for?

I’m fairly certain the Nunez saga didn’t get this far. We didn’t have an offer accepted, plus there were other clubs in the bidding for him.

Some very legit sources indicate Gonzalez deal is done. But agree we should probably be a little cautious until it’s formally announced.

This morning I wanted to name check. Chris O'Grady, but it escaped me until a short while ago.

I'm feeling guilty about Raphael Meade's inclusion, because there was another name I was reaching for but still can't quite pull it in.
If it doesn't come to me by lunchtime I'll be asking for help.

Despite being very happy with the company and loving my colleagues, I hate my job.

Yet this job that I really want shot off allowed me to spend from 06:00 to 10:13, precisely, staring off into the middle distance, doing next to no work, providing no help or assistance until a calm centred over my brain and I was able to grasp at the blessed release that is:-

Stafford Browne - the poor man's Lionel Messi.

Sorry Raf, Staf was who I meant to name check.

All I could think of was Sterling Sharpe, a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers in the 1990's.
The brains a funny thing.

Indeed, not Uncle Tony's preferred way of doing business at all. The deal is probably dead in the water now, if it ever existed in the first place of course.

Stafford Browne, he of non-league fame, plus amassing a gigantic three appearances in the stipes.

Was that all?

Gosh in my mind we sold the legend that was Mike Small, got in Raphael Meade as a replacement, then replaced him for a season with Stafford Browne.

As it's taken me all morning to remember his name I guess I shouldn't be surprised I had no idea of his Albion career.

Yep, if you blinked at the wrong time you would have completely missed him. Played many more games down the road for Worthing than he ever did for us. :)
