Hither (sometimes Thither)
2128: Not surprisingly, Porto are looking deflated after that flurry of Arsenal goals. Nicklas Bendtner should really have just bagged himself a hat-trick for the Gunners to complete their misery but he heads wide when Bacary Sagna finds him unmarked in front of goal.

If anyone went in Ladbrokes on Portland Road today, they'd know I told EVERYONE that Bendtner was going to score tonight. It was bet of the day on the board, and there was a slip in the football section aswell. He's not suprised me tonight.

This is quite classic, mind. :lolol:

Even the worst strikers score goals in a good team though. Emile Heskey banged in 23 one year for Liverpool, afterall. He's rubbish.

Everyone likes nippy little strikers, but almost everyone concedes that you need a hulk at times to play off.

Just because Heskey, Davies or Bendtnar don't skin three defenders before cracking the ball (or rolling it) into the net, it does not make them rubbish.

I've nothing agains the targetman striker. Give me Carlton Cole or Lloyd Owusu any day of the week. But that's because they've got something about them other than just being a lump, in my humble opinion. I don't like Bendtner, I'm aware he scored a hattrick in the Champions League tonight but that doesn't change anything, I still think he's crap. I'm glad Arsenal are through, though, and pleased I was wrong (again).

I don't profess to know everything, noone does. I just don't like Bendtner.

You have been well and truly kerflumped.

:lolol:
Note the difference in quality between your posts, and those of BoF. For comparison. He makes a considered point, whereas you just cackle like a child.

Which is fair enough, I'm very strong in my criticism of Bendtner and he's done brilliantly tonight and shut a lot of people up, fair play to him. But it's got sod all to do with you.

I've just seen the goals and I am ammending my comments slightly.

The first goal was a chance he had a free shot at, ok he had to slide in, but the goalkeeper was on the ground and there was a covering defender but to one side of the goal, so he had half an open goal to aim at. Easy. His second goal was brilliant work by Arshavin and he had another open goal. And he then (brilliantly) scored a penalty.

Not exactly inspirational brilliance, but a hattrick nonetheless. My ammendment is that he'll rarely score easier goals than his first two tonight. Some will suggest I'm being bitter because he's made me look a complete tit, which isn't the truth. He has made me look a tit, but for every open goal he scored tonight, he'll miss plenty at the weekend and justify his donkey status once more. :)
