Looks like you've alredy started.

it wasn't meant that way but reading back can see why that view comes across. I'm far from that view I like flair players I was (and still am) a big fan of Leon and CKR because i think football is all about the quality players who can change a game.

Was meant to be a dig and the usual suspects who moan

Good signing, I reckon. I expect to head the ball from goal kicks lumped in the air, now as he is not a midget.

This is based on the antipodean theory that a wild dingo is better than a pit bull terrier in midfield.

Who is going to take the corners?

Did Gregory and Knight hold discussions for this signing? If so I would imagine it must be one of the first bits of transfer business done since the Barry saga.

Hopefully Ward will prove to be quite handy and better than the similarly billed Stokes we had on loan earlier in the season from West Ham. Sounds like Ward has been frozen out at QPR since the FA Cup third round.

From vital football.net

Ward arrived in a blaze of glory during the summer from Aussie A-League side Perth Glory. Despite playing for just one season down under FIFA named him 15th in their list of the world`s most promising young players (Theo Walcott was 21st) and Ward himself spoke of coming to England to help him break into the Australian national set up.

Ward set himself a target of ten goals for the season and he made a terrific start with a goal in his third appearance against Southend at Loftus Road. However he was very much a Waddock player, despite Chairman Gianni Paladini`s influence in signing him originally, and when Gregory came to Loftus Road Ward`s days looked numbered.

He conceded possession for a crucial match winning goal at Sheffield Wednesday and upset the coaching staff with an incident in a friendly match at Hinckley. Although he then set up ray Jones winner at Cardiff with a terrific cross he didn`t appear to be Gregory`s cup of tea.

Ward still has 18 months of his contract left and the fact that Gregory has chosen to loan him out rather than try and negotiate a settlement suggests he may have a future at Loftus Road yet. Whether his relaxed, picking the pass, style of play will cut it in League One remains to be seen.

Brighton are managed by Ray Wilkin`s brother Dean who regularly features in the QPR Masters team.

 better than Theo Walcot

My QPR-supporting mate (who'll be with us at Brentford) says that Ward is an excellent prospect, thinks it's a good acquisition for us.

Mine said ' dont go breaking a bottle open to celebrate getting him he is lazy and looks a good prospect but does nothing'

just shows how opinions vary. Lets wait and see and give him a chance.

what about defenders    FFS Wilkins

Well as we've signed two midfielders El Abd is now defensive cover if we get an injury to Lynch or Butters.

I'm surprised about us signing Nick Ward. He used to play for my local club Perth Glory and was a hot prospect, winning the A-League youth player of the season in 2005-06. A great player - back then. But he hasn't done too well at QPR and isn't really a signing that inspires confidence for Brighton. He left the A-League one season too early and consequently isn't the promising prospect he was once touted to be. He was a terrific player two years ago, but we will see what a year at QPR as a bench warmer has done to his confidence. If he can recapture his old form, he would be an awesome attacking midfielder/playmaker.
