Interesting to hear Naylor regarding Nick Powell as 'one of a couple of young players of interest'. He is only a year or so younger than Matt Ryan, Jose Izquierdo and Davy Propper, so are they considered young?

He looked Premier League quality for Wigan against West Ham. I’d love a AM in and he could be a star with his Man Utd heritage.

Fair enough but, still not training. So, that's not just a lack of fitness.

Thankfully we wont have to wait long, Chris said this a week ago,

“We’re expecting him to be fit in a couple of weeks,” and “He’s looked very good outside, (I’m) very much look forward to getting him fully fit and of course into the squad and team.”

Just one week to go then.

Unfortunately he said this yesterday: “We are looking at Jurgen hopefully training with the team Monday and he is going to be two or three weeks." Coventry earliest and more likely Swansea.

Isn't he a midfielder?

Yes, but he has a few goals so arsehat journalist makes him a Striker, it happened to Dunk when he got 7 goals, mentioned as starting to blossom as a striker.

Brighton factually.....
"Cook admits his hands may be tied if a large offer was received." how large is large?

Having lived in Wigan for a number of years back in the Springfield Park days, I can guarantee it has to be large possibly this large

The Guardian mention that Pompey's top goal scorer (last season) Kai Naismith, who apparently happens to be a midfielder/winger, appears to be on his way to Wigan.

Would that be a like for like replacement?

Also reported here:

Although that article says that the reports we've made a 3m bid for Powell are 'well wide of the mark'.

Whether that means we've made a bigger/smaller bid or no bid at all, who knows?
