Finally we agree, dreadful miss early on and not much else from our strikers.

Still at least Hammond knew where the back of the net was.

Wii is great. Have never been interested in games consoles at all but this gets you on your feet (though not away from the telly!) and a bit more active. It is really addictive. I go down the gym three times a week but after playing ten-pin bowling for a couple of hours on the Wii I was still feeling the ache in the back of my legs two days after. I can understand why doctors are getting reports of strains from playing the games. Unfortunately my daughter has taken hers back to Nottingham now that Christmas is over so I will have to consider whether I want to pay out for one of my own now.

Got one last week and now have it hooked up to the internet. I guess I could post on here with it, but it'd take bloody ages. I understand that you can add other people as friends so you can see their Miis and whatnot.

Anyone got any they fancy sharing and/or can tell me how to do so?

I have a Mii, but no idea how to create a friends list either.

Have started to download some games for the virtual console. Forgot just how difficult R-Type was, today's games are for PUSSIES.

Anyone finished zelda yet? or even close? 25 hours in and just finished the fourth dungeon with that spinning whatnot, such an amazing game...

**incidentally, playing it on the gamecube, am I missing much with the wii controls?

Anyone got over the novelty already and now bored?

Irrespective of whether you consider it a novelty or not, the main launch title (zelda) is one of the greatest games I have played. To be generally considered as on a par with Zelda OOT also makes it one of the top few games ever made.

I'm as excited about it now as I was when I first tore it out the packaging.

And everybody that comes round now, without exception, falls in love with the thing.

Wii sports is still the king but Wario and Monkey Ball are both great fun for a bunch of mates together and then there's all the retro downloads you can enjoy on top of that.

Currently Bomberman reigns supreme and it's probably a toss up between that and Wii Sports Tennis as number one in our house but some of the other retro classics are still getting a fair bashing. Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 are still SUPERB games and of course there's always the original Mario Bros for when you fancy going proper old skool.

In short, the greatest invention of my lifetime

Very easy, so long as you have broadband, then the Wi-Fi in your Wii will connnect easily.
To date I have downloaded

Mario 64
Zelda
Probotector
Alien Crush
Castlevania IV

The Weather, News, Everyone Votes and other channels are okay, but more of a novelty than a benefit.

Not sure how to set up a Wii friends code though, so any help appeciated,

Provided you have a wireless connection in your house it's as easy as Dwayne's dead sister.

Just automatically connects itself up and there's no need to f*** about with signing up your own account yada yada yada. It's just straight online, you can browse the news and weather channels from the main menu, use the Opera browser to surf the net (meaning access to music in the form of Myspace or finetune, videos from YouTube or Peekvid etc. and of course all your favourite message boards) and then there's the shop channel where you can download all the games you could desire either by using a credit/debit card or with pre paid cards you can buy in game shops.

It really is as easy as that.

Totally the future

It is still possible to get online providing you have a broadband router rather than the freebie USB ones you get with your ISP. If you haven't got a router then to get a wireless one is probably cheaper than you might think:

In terms of saving the games they can be just saved to the Wii's internal memory, I don't think you can actually save them to the memory card (when I tried computer said no).

If your Wii automatically connects to your boradband that would suggest you have no security setup??

If anyone on here knows where Bluejuice lives then just sit outside his house for free broadband access and more than likely free access to his files (if you know what you are doing!?!)

:lolol:

Well OBVIOUSLY I have a WEP key you tool, I just meant that the Wii finds your network no problem and sets itself up to hop online. But of course you will still need to know your WEP or you won't gain access

:p
