I know a few of you don't like Leeds but being half Yorkshire means I'm mostly on the fence when it comes to Leeds United until we play them, then I'm all blue and white.

Anyway, just been on WACCOE and although it might have been reported elsewhere and I'm about to be fixtured, here are some comments:

That is good news for Brighton, they've been battling for that ever since The Goldstone was taken away from them.

Brilliant news it just goes to show if you get off your arse you can make a difference, if it weren't for the fans Brighton would still be playing at Gillingham.

Grew up in east sussex and saw the seagulls at the goldstone on several occasions, never at gillingham or the withdean thankfully! Having that ground sold from beneath them felt like the heart was being ripped out of the community and this whole business with leeds at the minute feels like history repeating itself.
I reckon they will go to from strength to strength as there is no other league club in Sussex and no similar sports like rugby league(or union) to compete with. I think the locals will also take a lot of pride in the new stadium and there are also a lot of passionate and knowledgeable football fans in the area who will follow the club and it will probably model itself on a club like reading.
Mind you having said all that once its built hopefully leeds will only have to play them in the cup rather than the league!

Well done Brighton fans.
It is they and they alone that have kept the club going and pressed for the new ground. They have been shafted at every possible level and still they have managed to succeed.
An inspiration to every set of fans who are shafted.
And just because we are in the brown stuff up to our necks, doesn't meen we cannot be pleased for others.

Well done Brighton, don't like to see any football club going to the wall, no matter who they are. These things shouldn't happen in football, its not right. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/soapbox.gif)
Even wouldn't be happy if scum went tits up, after all whats the point in footy without hatred and rivalry?

I'd firstly like Leeds fans to know that a large number of Brighton fans are keeping an eye on your situation at the moment.
I'd also like to thank Leeds fans who have sent the odd email or letter in support of our stadium.
Our success has been greatly assisted by the help of fans from OTHER clubs.
I won't forget this and neither should fans of other clubs when their own obsession is going through a period of stability and or success.
It's because we have been brought up to relish the rivalries on a Saturday afternoon, that we must show solidarity during the dark days.
All the best Leeds and I look forward to your first visit to our Cathedral by the sea.

respect to the fans , hopefully all this "life in limbo" stuff gets sorted before the season starts with someone stepping in who ACTUALLY wants to run Leeds as a club rather then just another business

i still f***ing hate leeds

Beating them is still immensely pleasurable in many ways as it means I can rub my cousin's noses in it for a few months.

But I don't want to see them or any other club go out of business.

We've got twelve and a half business days for Bates to blink, the FL to blink, them both to half blink and compromise or a White Knight to come flying in from Planet Zorg, otherwise there'll be no 4 points next season. Or the one after that.

Haven't quite given up hope yet, but as each business day ticks by and we're no nearer a decision it's harder and harder to imagine being at Prenton Park on Aug 11.

Still, we're not all wife beating, whippet walking, flat cap wearing, rioting hooligans and I wouldn't imagine there are many Leeds fans who aren't glad for you guys today.

Like you said Starry, I think many fans are happy for us today. Each team has twats that follow them us included but the majority of fans are good eggs and all pull together in times of crisis. Just look at the fans united days and the Wrexham days etc.

I am at a loss as to this hatred of Leeds, I am starting to feel a lot of sympathy for them in their present plight and in all honesty have never cared enough about them to hate them anyway.

I have an awful feeling that it is going to have to be Bates that blinks (serves him right). The Football League can't make an exception otherwise they will undermime their own position. I do feel for you Starry. I would love Bates to get stung badly, but not at the cost of a football club.

What we wouldn't give to have him step down off that plinth and march into Bates' office to teach him a thing or two about Leeds.

BoF - In theory I of course agree with, the FL can't give in but at the same time I am a Leeds fan and I do want to have a club to support next season. It's a huge mess. As it stands right now Leeds United 07 do not meet the criteria for the golden share - we were not sold under a CVA and there were no exceptional circumstances. The FL were stopped from using exceptional circumstances (Bates/KPMG saw to this) because in doing so it would have opened the bidding right up, Bates would not have won and would have been forced away having lost a lot of money. Instead, he took the chance and saw that the exceptional circumstances clause was not allowed and here we are in the mess we have been in for many weeks. And it's all his fault. He could have let the FL impose EC and chose not to. He could have purchased the club back from KPMG inside a CVA and chose not to (was forced not to, depending on which way you look at things)
