Nice country pub suggestions (taking missus tonight)

Hi guys,

I'm taking the girlfreind out for a meal tonight an wondered if anyone has any nice country pub suggestions that do real nice food with a nice atmos?

I was thinking Blackboys Inn but havent been there since I was about 7 years old.

Anyone got any help here.

ginger fox, pricey and prob more restaurant than pub. few in henfield high st, the plough. royal oak henfield, the chalk pit nr lewes is ok.

If you want posh grub then it's difficult to do better than the Jolly Sportsman at East Chiltington (near Plumpton)thejollysportsman.com. Lovely place with well looked after Hophead and other beers, plenty of choice of wines and malt whiskies etc

i hear they have taken a good few seats/tables out of the tiger recently to get the pub balance back a bit.
