How much??

Blinking Flip they go up to £145!!

Is that just because of the novelty factor of it being in the UK or is it genuinely that expensive to go to NFL games?

Plus the pitch has to relaid after it has been battered beyond repair. :lolol:
The ticket prices are aimed at the Yanks living over here and diehard UK gridiron followers.

Great, fat Americans ruining the pitch... again!
But paying top dollar for a night in the over priced, unwanted, giant white elephant.
So get used to it.

Been to all the previous games and am, going to this one. Rumour is that the tailgate party will be open to everyone, no tickets needed.

You been to the other tailgates?

Year 1 - hard to get tickets for, awesome
Year 2 - easier to get tickets for, not bad, MASSIVE (i.e. 45 minute) bar queues
Year 3 - tickets handed out to all sorts of people, queues going right up Wembley way and back again

Theres a good Irish pub up the road, I know where I'll be.

Only went to the official tailgate for the 2nd game, as you said it was good but long queues for everything which made it a bit disapointing, Every year I've gone to the Green Man Pub literally just up the road from Wembley where Colchester Gladiators put on an unofficial party. Good pub, great atmosphere, got merchandise stalls, Colchester's cheerleaders do a routine and never waited more then 5 minutes to get served.

It counts in the standings. Many years ago they used to play a pre-season game at Wembley but it now looks like it's become a regular feature.

thanks. so it's like that 39th game idea they had in the premiership
Not quite, your forgetting this is the home of franchise football, many teams have moved cities, in their history, following money. So there is less of a 'what about the fans' outcry as it's more about the money, and creating a global sport.
This week we have Utd v Scousers imagine for no apparent reason (other than money) it was being played in Miami, everything normal last week and next, just this week Miami instead of Old Trafford.

The only eye brow raising, I'm aware of, is the distance from San Fran to London and back.

Think the fans get a little more pissed off then is being made out by the NFL to be honest. When you buy a season ticket you could have a maximum 8 games if you don't make the playoffs (which I don't think the 49ers will) so to then lose a home game to the International series is quite a big deal.

Thoroughly enjoyed that pub last year. Shame about the match afterwards.

I think (could be wrong) that the "home" team do something to compensate season ticket holders. They either reduce the cost of this year's season ticket or offset it against next year's. A season ticket for an NFL team covers 10 games to include the two home pre-season games which is arguably a bit dodgy - single game tickets for these games are at the same rate as regular season games. Everything in the NFL from how many pre-season games a team can play to when they can practice is very regulated.
They even stipulate how many games a season the head coach can wear a suit on the sidelines for!
I'm going to sound a bit like an anorak now but it was actually this aspect of the game that first peaked my interest rather than what happens on the field.

Finally off topic somewhat - Portsmouth FC. What a disgusting cheating bunch of inbred scumbags they are eh?
