Unless I missed it the last train getting you back from Newcastle is at 19:04 with the next ones taking nearly 14 (!) hours.

I did the same-day coach for Boro and it was more tolerable than I expected, which gives me the confidence I can survive that bit further to Newcastle without getting DVT! By air seems too expensive, and my wife baulked at the chance of a weekend up there, which leaves the coach...
