the idea of "national identity benefits" sounds like managment mumbo, and Google agrees, not giving any clear explaination there.

National Identity? What sort of nonsense is that? The British will stay British, the French will stay French, the Germans will stay German?

I don't disagree, which is why I suggested people just Google it. I was not claiming that I relied upon that - quite the opposite.

I saw in the Peterborough by election that less than half the people bothered to vote, which is shocking. I think that sums up the nations attitude to politics and MP’s at the moment.

The turnout was 48% - that's actually quite high for a by-election - there have been turnouts of under 20%

If people aren't following an academic route and they drop out of education it would stop some falling completely out of the system and making bad life choices. Learning to get out of bed before midday, making your bed, cleaning your clothes and cook are quite good disciplines.

It's all very well saying this, but the kids who will do this sort of voluntary work are the ones who are scouts/guides, doing DoE awards, volunteering for a charity etc. What about kids who just want to lie in bed all day, hang out in the park smoking weed etc. They're not going to go and collect rubbish from the beach.

And if it's made compulsory, what's going to make them? I bet it won't be highly paid, lots of kids will just say that can't be bothered,

Don't fall for the "eccentric" Boris bullshit, it's an illusion - which is why he is so mistrusted by other MPs.

If he wins through to the membership vote, it's because other MPs have reluctantly admitted that people like yourself have fallen for it.

Sporadically media savvy is a better way to describe him. This is the man you after picking up that people liked his ruffled hair, would routinely ruffle it before going on air to be interviewed.

He isn't good at much, but has found that certain people like he isn't good at much. Only there to appease the membership, a modern day Jeffrey Archer who Thatcher despised.

He attracts an X-Factor voting crowd and will actively go after it. If a dog can win so can Boris.

You are welcome to him, but he will inevitably fail you.

I agree with Rees Mogg not being able to run the country. But does he want too? He reminds me of Shakespeare’s Cassius. He wants to lurk in the shadows manipulating others to ensure that his plans are followed through. His passion is money and he wants the EU regulations gone in order to make himself a lot richer and people like you poorer. Ever heard the interview with Rees Mogg as a child at some Tory bash; he sounds like one of the evil brats from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory explaining his love for money and his willingness to do anything to get it.

And then we come to Boris. This man wants power and will say anything to get it. This is just some of his pro-EU stuff.

He’d back remain quicker than you could say ‘leave means leave’ if he thought it’d get him the top job. He is a thoroughly nasty piece of work and he’ll betray you and your Brexiteers like he did his wife if he is elected PM, you just watch.

Odd though that you don’t see through his lies when clearly you’re able to successfully rally against horrid parking companies of which are owned by the types of people with the morals and ethics of Messrs Johnson & Rees-Mogg.

I wish someone could explain the reasoning behind this. There is no majority in parliament for 'no deal' , there's no chance of getting it through. And several MPs have said that they'd rather bring down the PM than vote for it.

To get a withdrawal deal through, a PM has to move further away from no deal.

But it's not the parliamentary arithmetic. I don't understand this "take votes away from the Brexit Party" either. If you're a hardcore no-dealer, you're going to vote for the party that firmly believes in that, not a party that changes its mind every week. In other words, I can't see that choosing a hard Brexiteer to lead the Tories is going to lead to more votes.

I'm baffled by the whole thing.
