[Football] Next England manager poll

Given that most seem to be anti-Potter on here I doubt this poll will give a fair reflection but I'm wondering who the other candidates would realistically be...

Probably easier than predicting our next manager, and we're all bored with that now.

Taking over from Southgate will be like taking over from Potter in that most of the hard work will have been done before they arrive. We (England) have the attacking players in place but it needs someone to change the tactics to suit the players we have in place, perhaps a 3-5-2. I suspect that either Howe or Potter could take over, not change much and continue from where Southgate will have left off.

I think I would prefer Howe but either would be fine.

Hoping it might be Cooper as he's got more experience that Potter in the UK. But Potter strikes me as an FA Golden Boy type of bloke, so I think it will be Potter.

No way would Pep, Klopp, Poch or Tuchel go for the England job. Can't compare it to the Champions League etc... and they dont have any emotional attachment to England to forego that like a Englishman would

Potter is probably first choice for England. It would make a lot of sense.

Carsley, Lampard, Cooper, Gerrard etc are all realistic options as well.

Almost certainly going to be someone who is unemployed, I don't see the FA splashing whatever release clause Eddie Howe might have or the compensation Newcastle would demand.

Pep Guardiola will be managing Brazil or England at some point in the future as winning a World Cup with either of those nations is the biggest thing you can do, and certainly on his list. But he'll be at least another year with City.

Southgate's done alright, and his management career before he got the job was failing at Middlesbrough.

Fair point, but he also do several years with the England under-21s. I think that has to count for something, a lot even. It is more International management experience than Potter has.

Odds on national manager no more indicative than odds on a club manager.

The FA won’t pay a club out of a contract they have with a manager

If Newcastle sack Howe, then he becomes the most likely. As things stand, The FA will likely be looking to start the recruitment process in about a month. Howe will very likely have a job then. The timings won’t stack up.

Carsley, not a chance in my view.
