Simon Clarke, Levelling Up Secretary is leaving the govt.

The PM is heading to Downing Street... which suggest the major departures have been dealt with.

Supporters of the mad Truss/mad Kwarteng mad economics faction leaving the building. Good.

A strong majority of Conservative MPs wanted Sunak (and very wisely didn't give the party members a chance to vote) so this is probably as near to unification of a Tory government available. Not greatly enthused, but anybody who doesn't heave a sigh of relief at the demise of the Truss regime needs to give their head a wobble

This. Get ALL the nutters out. Get some stability and a strictly nutter-free government until Sir Keir gets into Downing Street.

He didn't have a majority of MPs until Johnson dropped out. His supporters went to their second preference and then Sunak realised a majority. Not a very strong one as he ended up with 55%. Second preferential vote? Now where have I heard that before? Nice to see that the Tory MPs allow themselves some kind of PR when they vote. It's alright for some.

Braverman about to get the job back that she has just resigned from supposedly for breaching the ministerial code.
