Falmer, soon...
I'm not sure personality wise if he's a good fit but Domenico Tedesco is available. Haven't seen anything mentioned but is young and has some pedigree

He was my pre-Potter target

You know the type of football he plays right? We'd have to change most of our players and fans would hate it. 😱

I don't think that is necessarily Dyches style, it was what Dyche could do to survive with the budget he had.

Re: Marcelo Gallardo..

This from the Argentine press last night: https://bolavip.com/ar/europa/Un-eq...-quiere-a-Gallardo-como-DT-20220908-0043.html

A Premier League team wants Gallardo as manager
After Sevilla's interest in having Gallardo from 2023, a new interest emerged from England imminently and in River they tremble about what may happen with the future of their coach.
The news resounded in Núñez with great force in the afternoon hours of last Wednesday: Sevilla wanted to have Marcelo Gallardo as coach before an imminent departure of Julen Lopetegui from the position of coach in the Andalusian team. However, the intention of the Sevillians was to keep him in 2023, when his current contract with River expires.

Logically, this aroused concern in the Millionaire, since as happened last year, in the absence of a few months for the expiration of the link of the "Doll" with the club began to appear several proposals from Europe for him. It is that in addition to Seville, a new contender appeared this Thursday to have Gallardo as coach, in this case coming from England.
Specifically, Brighton has just been left without their manager, Graham Potter, because Chelsea approached him with a contractual offer that was indeclinable for both the coach and the team nicknamed as the "Seagulls", since his departure was given through a millionaire clause. It should be noted that Chelsea has an urgency to add a technical director because after falling in the Champions League in the debut against Dynamo Zagreb, from the new management of the club decided to dismiss Thomas Tuchel. And the rush goes through the competitions, since they are ongoing and the Blues want to be candidates in the Premier League and Champions League.
For this fleeting departure of his coach, from England, fans and journalists of Brighton would be putting pressure on the management of the club to hire Marcelo Gallardo as a replacement for Potter, something that could lead in the short term to a direct move of the Seagulls to try to stay with the coach of River.
If it happens, Gallardo would reach one of the best projects of the current Premier League and would direct Alexis Mac Allister, a midfielder who had a past in Boca and a great present there and in the Argentine National Team. Will River's manager emigrate to English football?

Looks like we only have fixtures in October to fulfil then we can get someone after the World Cup. Personally I would like Roberto Martinez.
Knows the league, plays good football and has won the FA Cup. He’ll do for me.

Obviously we don't want to rush but IMHO this weekends cancellations should be motivation to get someone in ASAP. We don't want any drop in levels or intensity in the players and need to give the incumbents as much time as possible. I truly hope the club, and expect, the club want to get this sorted very quickly. They will have a shortlist so let's go get em.

BOMBSHELL: The 2 European clubs preparing offers for Marcelo Gallardo
The Argentine ends his contract with River Plate in December and the opportunity is handled that he can leave at the end of the year, so the door is opened for him to make the leap to Europe.
Marcelo Gallardo remains one of the most sought-after coaches by teams in europe's top leagues. The Argentine ends his contract with River Plate in December and the opportunity is being handled that he can leave at the end of the year, so the door is opened for him to make the leap to Europe.

As reported by TyC Sports, two teams from the best European leagues have in their sights the Doll to be their new coach after the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Here we tell you what they are:
The 2 clubs in Europe that want Marcelo Gallardo

-Sevilla FC: The Seville team is going through one of the worst moments since Julen Lopetegui arrived on the bench of Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan. The Spanish coach is on a tightrope and knows that, if he does not win the weekend against Espanyol for LaLiga, he will stop being coach of the club. Monchi has many options on his list and one of them is Marcelo Gallardo, whom they have as an option for after the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

-Brighton and Hove Albion: The English team, which is one of the revelations in this beginning of the season, has been left without a coach because Chelsea took his services. Without Graham Potter, Brighton are looking for a new manager who can take the reins of the club and can build a new project. The Seagulls see the Doll as an interesting option waiting for what may happen in the coming weeks.

According to advance news, this Thursday, by TyC Sports, Marcelo Gallardo, coach of River Plate, will apparently be in the sights of two European clubs competing in the big 5, designation commonly used to encompass the five best European leagues.

The 46-year-old is referred to by the media as a potential successor to Julen Lopetegui, whose position in charge of Sevilla is increasingly dangerous, and also appointed to Brighton in the Premier League, whose coach Graham Potter was announced on Thursday as chelsea's new manager.

Marcelo Gallardo won, at international level, remember, two Libertadores Cups, a South American Cup, three Recopas in the service of the Millionarios and is considered one of the best South American coaches.

I'm not sure why Roberto Martinez would look to leave his job as the manager of the number 2 ranked International team(according to FIFA), to come to lil ol Brighton
I am hoping it might be the end of a cycle but you are quite right, why would he come to a team 4th in the league (best in the world) unless he was looking for a new challenge. It would keep Trossard happy as well!

Dyche won’t be chosen. If he is I’ll eat a hat, made of chocolate.

On the job description will be coaching/man-manager young players into (lucrative) gems.

I’d eat a hat made of chocolate anyway. I’ve probably already a hat’s worth of chocolate over the last 24 hours as it is.

Fantastic sleuthing.

Gallardo is the most successful River Plate manager of all time and they have had Pelegríni and Diego Simeone before him.

✅ Aged 46 and known as a tactical wizard.
✅ Honours coming out of his ear holes.
✅ Current salary 1.5m dollars
✅ Knows Ali Mac
✅ Speaks Spanish
✅ River Plate are terrified of losing him.
✅ Pupil of Bielsa 😁
✅ Favours use of youth players
✅ Was amazing in Championship Manager 1999

This is our man folks.

It would have to be after the world cup, unless we're going to have a temporary manager until then, it's improbable

Being reported that Chelsea have paid £22m in compensation. If true, and assuming we don’t have to pay anywhere near that to compensate a team we take a manager from it could be extra money to finally get that decent striker.. A new manager’s tactics/formations will take time to bed in, and so to mitigate patchy form during that period maybe we’ll go for a striker in January.
