As far as I can see, nobody's mentioned the bloke who's up there with Potter, Poch and Zidane at the bookies - Brendon Rogers.

I fancy he would be prepared to resign from Leicester if offered the Albion job. I'm not saying we are a bigger club but we are on different trajectories, the window is shut and Leicester will struggle this season. He could be sacked from that position any time now, while the remaining Top 6 managers positions are locked in with only second tier clubs likely to change managers now.

He ticks many boxes although wages will be a factor and - more worryingly - his defensive organisational shortcomings.

Experience won't be the main thing which TB will be looking for as a replacement, he'll be looking for as close to a continuity candidate as possible.

What did GP have experience-wise before he came here? A few seasons in a tiny outpost in Sweden and a season at Swansea.

The new manager (oh look at me talking like he's already gone, but I suppose this thread pre-supposes it) is odds on in my book not to have managed in the top division in England or another European League, but will buy into the ethos of the club, be able to demonstrate how they've bought through young player, be able to demonstrate how they've changed tactics for particular opponents and be able to articulate our brand clearly and positively.

Assuming the worst case, If we appoint f*****g Rodgers, it will be the last time I'm setting foot at the Amex.

By far the best option out there IMHO. Amazing attacking football, similar journey in Japan as Potter in Sweden, transformed Celtic, many of their older fans on forum saying its best football they've seen in their lifetimes, great with youth , may jump at chance for PL and on a 1 year rolling contract right now.

Every manager has their sell-by point at their club, and Rogers has passed his.
For several years he did very very well.
We could probably do better but it might be a shrewd move if he was available.

To be fair he has not been allowed to replace Schmeichel or Fofana with quality and I don't think their recruitment has been as good as ours over recent seasons. He would get more help with that at the Albion.

Leicester finished 12th and 9th under Craig Shakespeare and Claude Puel, and Rogers managed to take them to 5th, 5th and 8th over the past 3 seasons. He won the FA Cup just over 1 year ago too.

He was also the man who bought Adam Lallana to Liverpool and got some of his best football out of him.

Maybe he isn't the man for us, but if Gerrard, Moyes, or Lampard were to get the chop I'd expect Rogers to be linked with all of those jobs.

If he'd leave today, I'd put my money on Kjetil Knutsen.

First thing I said to another poster when the Tuchel news broke this morning was "I'd go for the Bodø/Glimt manager" if we were in a position where we had to replace Potter. Although obviously I hope he stays...this would be the next best thing for me.

A bit of an extreme reaction. Not going well for him at the moment obviously, but the whole club is in a mess and they have sold their best players and haven't singed replacements. He has achieved a lot in the recent past, won a trophy or two, and you don't become a bad manager overnight.

That said, even IF GPot goes, l can't see the Albion board making him first choice.
