How ironic that March and Webster have come on massively recently, considering how often they have been scapegoated by our fans. March especially has come on massively as a player.

Deepest, darkest Sussex
The threading through of passes in the final third was dreadful but a wins a win.

I blame whoever decided to get our boots sponsored by Sussex Concrete

Lancing
Positives

1. Percy Tau not as short as I expected looked lively and in very quick time formed a bit of understanding with Maupay.
2. We Won.
3. Jason Steele was outstanding in the penalty shootout.
4. Bissouma played well again.
5. Dunk played well very unlucky not to score in open play.
6. March played well again and scored a good goal.
7. Webster scoring the winning penalty.

Negatives

1. We made very hard work of that.
2. We really did not need extra time especially with two big away games coming up.
3. White looked like he went off holding his hamstring.
4. What a flap by Steele that led to Webster scoring again and again no blame attached
5. Maupays penalties are very hit and miss today it was miss.

Well played Newport you gave us a real game good luck with the rest of your season.

Ok we weren’t brilliant, but it’s great to get through to the 4th round draw and it was pretty exciting at the end.

I was entertained anyway, and that’s what it’s all about isn’t it?

Yes, that's it. We're heading for relegation, humiliated by a league 2 team, but I ask myself " Was Mackenzie entertained? Yes he was and THAT'S what it's all about." :lolol:

Why did GP make a dumb sub at the end , Bernado`s first touch was poor , and wtf was Steele thinking .
Better team by miles as usual , with no end product .

BUT i dont think i have ever seen a goalkeeping display like that before in the pen shoot out , or ever will , well done my son . (not literally , any speculation is rumour , will sue , will require BT ) .

Very strange game it was Brighton v Brighton's mistakes/poor play .. Newport could have stayed at home and we'd still struggle to win. :shootself

March was are most dangerous player tonight going forward

March has been our best player all season IMO, if we had a top striker who could head it he’d have assisted a lot of goals with the crosses he puts in. Closely followed by Webster who for me is starting to look like a really top class player, been dominant aerially just lately as well, not just the show pony ball player some of our fans claimed.

And it was obviously a completely s-i- pitch which clearly affected our ( or any other ) eg EPL team !

Jason Steele has got more balls than most of our so called supporters on this thread put together.
Goalkeepers make mistakes, that was a bad one, he then won the game for us.
So many must be really pissed off that we managed to struggle through a tough tie.
Never mind, you can all have another go in a few days.

He maybe great at pens but he looked well out of his depth for the rest of the game.

The dull part of the south coast
The threading through of passes in the final third was dreadful but a wins a win.

This was always going to be one of those games that if we didn’t win comfortably by halftime then it’s a poor performance. A classic banana skin tie in the making against a side that were up for it, skilful play negated by a lumps n’ bumps rugby pitch, and frustratingly wrong options taken by our players. We got through - just, and really, that’s all that matters. Well done Jason Steele in the shoot out, perfect redemption.

I was following the commentary and the game seemed to change after March was subbed. I can't wait to watch the replay after work later today.
