Not surprised with the strength of the team. They are a good team and even with us fielding a strong team, a result is not certain. They are playing as a mid table championship team.

No underestimating Newport from GP, we’ve picked a good strong team.

Not read the thread, but feck me it’s a better team than we played vs Arse, what’s there to moan about?

Really excited for Zeqiri, Tau, Jenks and Khadra

Same here. It’s a really sensible selection with a mix of regulars and reserves in the starting 11 and kids plus Tau to come on from the bench. It looks more than strong enough to win this game and give some players more game time than they’ve had recently as well seeing the new guys/youngsters in action.

I really don’t understand what people have found to moan about?! It’s ridiculous. It genuinely doesn’t matter what Potter did tonight, those posters would have slated him for it, as I said, pathetic.

So after the Villa cup game last season loads of you moaned about Potter picking a team of kids. Today he picks a strong team and loads of you still moan?! I have absolutely no doubt you’d also be moaning if he put out 11 stiffs or kids today. He literally can’t win, it’s pathetic.

I was delighted with the team he picked against Aston Villa and said so at the time. So I am perfectly entitled to moan now. He picks a weakened team against Arsenal in a home game we could have got points from and then picks this team in a week where we have two league games in the next 6 days.

I am a big Potter fan but I am not happy with this team tonight, we still could have played a strong team but rested two or three. He played much weaker teams in the league cup against higher level opposition when we didn’t have so many games or injuries.

It’s baffling and makes me worried about muddled thinking.

Decent line up. No excuse for not getting a win

For what it worth, personally I'm just disagreeing with his selection, nothing more and it may come off for him or it may backfire. I don't often comment on the team and I'm 50/50 on Potter but I think this is a risk. We are still allowed to comment on selection aren't we without being called pathetic?

I don’t think there’s a single fan who would have slated him for resting Maupay tonight given Welbeck and Connolly are already injured. It’s a crazy risk to take.

This is a strong line up Potter clearly wants a confidence boost prior to two difficult away games plus a good cup run might generally lift spirits, I really do hope Percy gets a chance at some point
