Penalty. Shocking decision. :nono:
I think it was a pen, in fact I think the ref was the BEST I've seen in a long while... If only more refs were like that one then football may not be so DULL.

I am personally glad to see Newcastle go out. They are an embarrassment to English football, abolute toilet.
A yard slower than every AZ player, play every ball too far in front of themselves then lose it, and didn't wake up for the game until the final 10 minutes.

They started the match like it didn't matter to them! Dyer is never England quality....not even Prem quality. I reckon Wilfred Bramble could defend better than that Twatus, and only Parker and Solarno seemed to be interested in the first half.
Sibierski played like a donkey and the only player in possession of any talent was Martins.

The ITV commentators were way too generous to NU, and didn't give AZ any credit throughout - so they were awful to listen to as well with their one-sided chatter.

My oh my, but after watching Spurs last night and how well they put it together, the 'toon' were a total waste of half an evening.

After the 1st leg this was a major disappointment. Credit to AZ though, a well executed european tie.

you seem to have an almighty vendetta against all things newcastle:lolol:

whenever the subject comes up you seem to unleash FURY on their geordie arses

yeah, newcastle were appalling! glenn roeder is a tad clueless(shame, he seems like a nice guy),

the thing is, newcastle, discounting their defence are a half decent side. Given is a quality keeper, butt and parker are good, dyer is good, duff is good, martins is good

yet newcastle are shite???

Think they'll be worried if it stays 4-2. Newcastle could easily get beaten 2-0 in Holland
Bang on the money there then fella.

What a pitiful bunch of BOTTLE JOBS Newcastle are. They made AK Alka Seltzer look like worldbeaters tonight. Pathetic and embarrassing.

That all seemed really rather inevitable, Van Gaal must have been fuming after the first leg to have shipped four goals - Newcastle must have had about six chances in all, while AZ did at least come back and batter away at them for the remainder. And now tonight - very limp performance from supposedly Newcastle's first-choice, full-strength midfield.
Funny to think how disappointed I was to miss out on Duff last summer...

Sounds like a few exciting ties elsewhere in the tournament today - Seville come back from 2-0 down to equaliser with a last-minute goal from their keeper, then win in extra-time. A dullfest between Espanyol and Maccabi, 0-0 a game and a half, finished 4-0 to Espanyol. And now Benfica have nicked it at the death against PSG.

Fun tournament.

Not forgetting the team who have set a Uefa Cup record by winning eight consecutive games, and now have Barcelona's all-time Uefa club competition record of 11 straight wins within their sights...

Now if only I could remember their name... ;)

to be honest i think most newcastle fans could've seen this poor form coming ages ago. they're youth system is utter, utter wank, and has been for years. since the likes of gazza and waddle i can't think of any decent, real decent players to come from the youth team. when you add some purely shocking transfer decisions you get all the makings of a FARCE of a side
