We're knackered, down to bare bones, and playing away at Saudi FC who are in the Champ League places. Sanchez, Veltman, Webster, Colwill, Lallana, March, Sarmiento, Lamptey and Moder all unavailable for various reasons/injuries. Given that it would be impossible to maintain Arsenal level performances. Bit of perspective.

The slim hopes of Champions League football slipped away, but still a good chance of Europa League. Still in our hands. Just beat Southampton and Villa.

Beat Southampton and a positive result against Villa should be enough.

To play the kind of passing out from the back we need the luxury of a world class Caicedo in CM to receive the ball, lay it off or win any 50/50 or even 90/10 duels!

For 90% of the season he has been hovering up any potential loose passes, breaking up play and winning 2nd chance balls for us. I do worry about loosing him!
My worry is he is irreplaceable. Everyone keeps saying we will find another gem. You don't always find another gem, especially to replace a genuinely world class midfielder. In fact even if we found another Caicedo he'd be three years off Caicedo MKI. It's a real worry and I think the only option, if we do sell him, will be to replace him with an immediately ready and very expensive signing.

Jesus Christ this forum is depressing when we lose. Football fans are morons. Sorry, yes, a lot of you are morons. No offence, like.

Is it not obvious that we have a half-strength, absolutely knackered side playing in over-congested fixtures, to the extent that we are having to play teenagers, including debuts tonight, against a top 4 team away?

Well, I thought it was obvious, anyway.
Oh stop playing to the gallery for goodness sake and get over yourself 🙂 - that’s several posts where you’ve made sweeping comments about the intelligence of your fellow NSCers - why don’t you read a few more posts and get a more balanced view of what most people have been saying for days - of course it’s fixture congestion, fatigue, injuries and a manager having to take calculated risks on who to play, for how long and when in order to get us into Europe.

We are not idiots!

I was actually impressed he got a foot to it… spread himself well.
You don’t save one on one’s or shouldn’t unless the forward fecks it up.

The issue was Van Hecke stepping up to play offside absolutely appalling decision at any level.

Positives:
Another goal for Undav
Offiah looks reasonable
Peupion minutes
A new highlights reel to show potential buyers for Caicedo so we can keep him next season
Encisco isn’t injured
No new obvious injuries
We still have a game in hand
After we lost against Everton we smashed Wolves
Deluded post.

Gutless performance to be honest. Our B team not great. We looked well short, result never really in doubt.

However, onwards.
Gutless? Don't be a tool.

Injuries everywhere. Exhausted players. Scraping the barrel for players on the bench. Against a team who have only lost twice at home.

That performance was many things, but not gutless.

I have seen your view …just don’t agree
But more importantly, surely you saw the evidence on the pitch? Newcastle targeted him from the first minute and then just let him have the ball with as much time as he wanted in the second half when they realised he couldn’t do anything with it, it was blatently obvious.

What do you think he did well out of interest?

As I say, it’s not his fault. He’s not match sharp but clearly not at this level either. Colwill looked good enough from his first minutes on the pitch in the PL. Also not RDZ’s fault for playing him, we have no choice with our thin squad.
