I thought we'd lose today as (all the pre match talk and posturing from the Toon indicated) Newcastle were well up for this. To take the sting out of their game and come away with a point at a place we nearly always contrive to lose... I'm delighted.

We need a striker or two for sure, BUT this was a good result - make no mistake.

There hasn't been an extreme reaction - people are just justifiably frustrated that, despite being the better team, we never excited going forward and never looked like we could score. Newcastle were really, really bad today, but we didn't take advantage of that. People watch football for entertainment, and ultimately it's attacking play that provides entertainment. The team aren't giving us much to cheer going forward, at the moment.

Bong and Ryan were our best players today, I thought.

Having a bit of a moan, getting it off your chest is fine. We are reacting as if we lost today which is better than reacting as if we'd just really lost. To moan at a draw is favourable and it hasn't evolved into a bed wetting scenario. So Up The Seagulls! Shit game today but we come away from St Geordies Park with une pois. I bet that isn't even proper French.

I thought March had a much better game today. Seemed much keener on taking his player on. End result not always great but defended well and seemed stronger in the tackle.

We do need a striker, of course we do, and one with pace that can stretch teams, but today didn't highlight that. Today highlighted the fact that our strikers don't always get a particularly good service (if any) and that we set up so defensively we can't capitalise on a good opportunity to get 3 points.

March is a right winger doing a job on the left, but yes he should have better quality than he showed today. Which made all the more surprising we didn't put on our left winger/record signing to have a go against a struggling team.

The more I think about today the more annoyed I'm getting. Not to be completely ungrateful for the useful point we gained of course.

Then it's bad point, as we settled for the draw after taking Murray off, but 4 points from these two games will be fine for me, just need the 3 on Monday, to win neither won't be clever.

yeh .....i would have taken a point before kick off but having watched the game we had numerous opportunities to test Darlow out ....March , Stephens and Knocky most notably......why will they just not have a go when they get a sight on goal .... frustrating to the max but a point is good up there....please , please , please can we beat Bournemouth tho........please....!!!
