Currently sit in 13th place with 35 points, and these fixtures in order Liverpool A,Spurs H,Swansea H,and then Leicester A,West Brom H,Queens Park Rangers A,and finally on the last day of the P/Lge season WHU at home. To the tune of The Beach Boys hit 'Would'nt it be nice' if they were relegated. :lolol:

Thanks to the lassitude of Mr Ashley they are once again a contender for Joke Club. Looking at those fixtures, apart from West Ham, all of them currently have good reason to fight for points either at the top or bottom of the table. No nice easy games against mid table mediocrity in there, it's going to be hard for them to get any points out of that lot.

And Big Sam isn't the kind of manager to let players go on their holidays early. He would want to do one over Newcastle come the last game of the season.

Unfortunately there's not enough teams to get more than 35 points so they'll be safe

Don't see those fixtures as particularly tough?! I was expecting you to reel off Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal..!

No chance, this happens every season now for the past few years.

Sunderland look relegation certainties, their joke manager gets binned off, a new one comes in. Newcastle look the definition of midtable mediocrity, with a few key injuries.

Sunderland beat Newcastle which sparks their fight for survival and continue to flatter to deceive for another season of dull lifeless football for 25 games a year.

Rinse and repeat.

Three up last year, same three down this year... then maybe a straight bounce back up, yoyo-style.
