Great chance to see a Premier Team and see how far we come I hope we win and get another good draw at home? Come on change your mind and buy a ticket if you are not sure. I still get a buzz every time I walk up the stairs to the WSU I think it might be my lack of oxygen soon put it right after a pint of Harvey's :drink::drink::drink:

I reckon 20,000 at the very most.

So you've said. About fifteen times.

I guess we'll find out on Saturday.

By the way, you say 'at the very most'. 20k is a GREAT crowd for the FA Cup 3rd round. Compare it to all the others on Saturday. Whatever our crowd is (I'll guess c 25k) you can be sure it will stand up very well indeed, to all the others.

Very well put. I think a lot of fans have got into the habit of moaning over those 14 years and can't quite shake that habit now the good times are here. You'd never guess we'd just tonked Ipswich away from home and were about to challenge a top Premiership side in a televised cup game.

It's all very strange isn't it. I know i'm hugely looking forward to Saturday, as are the group of 9 people that i go with (all season tickets holders, and all more than happy to find £34 for our West Upper seats for what promises to be one of the biggest games of the past 20 years). See you there.

This. Its a very, very strange situation.

Some people just love to whinge I guess, and more than anything they HATE to be proved wrong, and made to look stupid.

Hold on a minute, I've not said anything about WANTING to see the ground empty and if I'm wrong i'll hold my hands up and say so. But there's only 3 days left and THOUSANDS of tickets left if WSU hasn't gone on sale yet along with other blocks in the ground.

That will be benchmark as to if they got the pricing right and NOTHING else.

No chance will this sell out. This is a barber tactic of creating the illusion of scarcity - He slowly releases all the tickets (worst tickets first) rather than all in one go.

I reckon 20,000 at the very most.

So you reckon 20k at the most despite there being around 2k left according to the ticket office. We have a capacity of 27,500 and Newcastle have sold out so if you take 2000 away from 27,500 you get 25,500 which is more than 20,000. And even if those figures are way off, there will not be nearly 8000 unsold seats. Mainly because there are 800 left online and I can't see (on the ticket website) were another 7500 seats are even with the non online sold ones.

So basically shut up.

The tickets are the NORMAL price. No price rises, no reductions. It might sell out, it might not, but it's been fairly embarrassing observing the amount of people complaining about the prices... it's on TV... early kick off... etc etc... and saying they can't be bothered. What exactly were you waiting for as those long and lonely 14 years of homelessness and mediocrity ticked by? It's the 3rd round of the cup at home to Newcastle for fucks sake.

28 quid for a North Stand ticket, top-half Championship club at home to last season's 5th-placed Premiership side. Given the very reasonable price of a season ticket and that's GOOD f***ing VALUE. I don't see how the fact it is on TV should matter, most football is on TV now one way or another but you pay the money to be there. I've been following the Albion since 1993 and I reckon we've probably hosted top-level opposition in either cup about 5/6 times maximum in those 20 years (including Leicester & Southampton). Anyone who thinks this isn't a big day for the Albion has really managed to get their head stuck up their own arse in the last couple of years.

I appreciate some people find Jan a tough month financially and might have preferred a nice tenner a ticket against Conference opposition, but the complaints about pricing are ridiculous IMO.

It's very depressing seeing alot of posters on here DESPERATE for a low turn out. Odd really.

I completely agree with the above three gentlemen.

You have no idea how many are left.

And you say that the WSU 'hasn't gone on sale', as though that means there are thousands of unsold seats up there. Are you really suggesting that NO season ticket holders up there have reserved their seats?

Yes that's exactly what I said, well done you.

It's not even the Albion's biggest game in January. Let's not get carried away.

If you bothered to read my post - going by the sales strategy of league games - all tickets are not released at once. The ticket website says there are 800 available, but this is not true. I suspect if you times that by 10 you'll be closer to the mark.

If league games are not 800 tickets away from selling out at this point, I am confident this game won't be either. There might be a logistical reason for the clubs' ticket sales strategy, but I suspect it's more from a business point of view by creating the illusion of scarcity to boost sales.

Again, you think there are around 8000 seats still left which really is utter bull. Online, there are 838 seats left (Amex Tickets Remaining On Sale Now
). Obviously this doesn't take into account the tickets not online yet/at all. As far as I can tell, the areas that are fully on sale are the south stand and east stand (bar family stand) so therefore all these areas are included in the 838. The two NS blocks nearest the west stand, west lower wings and west upper are the only places not to have been placed online at all and in my guess this accounts for about (1250 - half NS, 4000 West Upper and around 1750 for the WL wings) 7000 seats. So, assuming absolutely none of those 7000 have been sold we'd still be looking at an attendance of 20,000 (27,500 - 7838). But the fact is, those seats are still on sale and at the very minimum, 2000 of these have been sold (guess).

Your logic is flawed.

I never commented on the previous thread about prices but the atmosphere will be dreadful, lots of non-regulars that don't have the confidence to sing or know the words. Not saying atmosphere is everything.. giving some people a chance to become regular fans after seeing a one-off game is a good thing I suppose.

Fair enough.

FWIW I think a lot of regulars will attend. However it may be the early start that detracts more from the atmosphere. I am still hopeful that it will be good, especially with 2,000 drunk Geordies giving it there all.

Well I for one will be sitting at home and watching on the telly...

(...because I live in york)

If I was in the south I would definitely be there, Newcastle are an excellent draw and after the last time we played them I'd happily pay through the nose to see that performance again.

Like I've said in previous posts, in my experience the club doesn't release all available tickets at once. There will be many more than tickets than 838 to sell, I can vouch for that much. How many exactly, I haven't a clue but considering the circumstances I would say a lot more.

You moan at me for 'not reading yor post' and then type something which I have literally just explained.. classic.
