And I'm getting distracted now, but the pub in Stoke station's decent, whatever it's actually called. Admittedly last time I had to do my best "football match? What? I'm just waiting for a train to Manchester" to be allowed in after the game.

Anyway, I was supposed to be meeting my Geordie friends in The Town Mouse before the game on Saturday, but pulled out after realising that this was pretty much incompatible with me doing Sober October. I think this is the worst away day for that, with the possible exception of Liverpool.

Thanks for the twin reminders; York Tap is great and Liverpool again in two weeks. Woohoo!

Got back late last night after a fabulous weekend.

Too many different pubs to mention over the 48 hours we were there, but enjoyed them all and a couple of decent resuarants too.

Team stayed in the same hotel as us and we stood behind Mrs Veltman at the match.
