If we have a top dev squad keeper then we only need 2 in the first team not the current 3. Brez be a happier back-up than Casper I'd have thought but have to see.

John Sullivan played one or two first team games, has been at Millwall and Charlton since leaving us, although not as a no. 1 keeper but decent enough.

He has been on loan somewhere in League 1 this season and has been playing games. Might be Yeovil? This is going to require investigation, and an edit. :dunce:

Played 4 games on loan for Colchester this season. Yeovil was old news, 2010/2011!

Brez tends to panic when it comes to 'big' games. He let in 6 goals twice, last season whereas Casper will have an odd blooper, but it would only be a single goal he lets in.

With respect, Ankergren didn't play against Liverpool or West Ham away. Brezovan didn't cover himself in glory in either of those games and was obviously a complete basket case in terms of confidence, but he was the man between the posts for the Newcastle win and we did a whole lot better defensively when he took over from Ankergren last season.

Personally, I don't think there's any question at all that Ankergren is a better goalkeeper than Brezovan and of the two, he's the one I'd keep. But keep it in perspective, we signed Brezovan as an emergency measure at the wrong end of League 1. By our current standards, he probably isn't good enough but he's been a fantastic player for us and incredible value, all things considered.

Casper played against Newcastle or where you referring to last season? Casper did well for Leeds at Old Trafford a few of years ago, but I take your point and enjoyed Brez being our keeper in League 1. I feel that is his standard in the main part.

This is EXACTLY what we need, a young understudy to learn for the future. We have a great first choice 'keeper, a great goalkeeping coach and soon to have amazing training facilities. He could really reach his potential with us an hopefully move through the ranks to be first choice in ten years.

Who is the GK coach? Another new member of staff?

Sorry, I was referring to last season but without a great deal of clarity!

Casper did indeed, and he is a better goalkeeper. Kuszczak was in goal for Man Utd that day ironically! Brezovan has forged a very nice career for himself, considering he was released by Swindon and then rejected after trials with Hartlepool, and one other. When he first signed for Swindon, before the shocking arm break, he had a trial with Everton and was due to have one with Tottenham the week after the break... And now he's our number 3 and without question the best number 3 in our history.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind keeping both him and Ankergren over the summer. Kuszczak plays when fit, and he's clearly good enough for a team with ambitions at this level. Why bother trying to sign a new number 2? Ankergren and Brezovan are both ok to step in when needed, we've won the two games they've played this season afterall. I doubt either of them command high wages, especially Brez.

Andy (?) Beasley.

Good. We have a dismal record of bringing through young keepers from our own youth scheme.

Will Packham? Pretty poor. Chris May? One appearance I think. Mark Ormerod hung around for a few years but was hardly a prospect in demand from other teams. Nicky Rust came from Arsenal I think so wasn't a youth team graduate. Brian McKenna- one appearance, four goals conceded. There are no doubt many more who've failed to make the grade, bobbing around the local non league scene.
What about Sullivan?

You, like almost everyone else, clearly didn't read what I wrote properly. Kuszczak > Ankergren > Brezovan. Clear so far?

Butland > Camp > Marshall > probably a few others > Kuszczak. Doesn't mean anything.

Mark Cartwright anyone? I remember he played in the game where Cardiff missed the easiest chance I have ever seen 2000/2001? Only kept out the team due to fan pressure and FDM being on fire!! (Blackpool at home)

Just read that he also used to be Bridcutt's agent!!

I met one of the Argyle groundsman back in October and he was telling me all about this lad and that they had Premiership scouts down most weeks watching him.

Got to be worth a punt

Fairly harsh assesment of Ormerod, I think. Played almost 100 games for the club, and made a one on one save that probably saved us from OBLIVION. Deserves to be remebered in higher regard than you suggest, IMO, like.
