Hugely over rated night out when you pay to go into your normal pub!

Much rather see the new year in with a few friends and spend the money on some great ingredients and have a superb meal in the comfort and safety of my own home.

This, I'm glad Mrs BN9 is doing the cooking though, as it would not be superb if I was let loose in the kitchen

 We know Barca well so we don't feel compelled to rush around sight seeing. We wake up, decide what to do over breakfast at the famous old food market, bimble about, watch people, checked out a few bars and ate and drank as an when we needed. Was very relaxing, lovely city.

Sounds the same as us down here in Banus, currently sat outside enjoying a glass and loving the fact it's still light at quarter to six!

Currently setting up a few Fireworks to set off later, having already had a couple of beers I have no intention of going anywhere as a bottle of Bordeaux has been opened for our Dinner and there is some Nyetimber if we make it as far as midnight.

Obviously Middle Age has struck as I can't imagine why I would want to do anything else, certainly not be down some overcrowded Pub.

In any case Happy New Year to all NSCers, hope to argue with/laugh at/occasionally agree with you all in 2017! :bigwave:

Too many bearded bell-ends,who haven't realised they're as out-dated as a Urophile out in the evening.Few convivial drinks lunchtime,then the only place to be in the evening is;

Urophile? What with samtheseagull wanting his balls dragged over broken glass this is turning out to be quite a "specialist" evening. Each to their own but I'll stick to the craft if you don't mind.

My most memorable NYE was meeting a mate for drinks in Browns at 7.45pm only to be informed they shut at 8pm as it was NYE! We then went to a pub in North Street (one of the old banks) and met three females who were great fun and not interested in men... I realised it was time to go home when I recovered my senses in the Candy Bar in St James Street but not knowing if they actually had a gents in there. And I was the best looking person in the bar.

If all goes to plan I will watch the 10 o'clock news in bed and be asleep by 11pm. I couldn't give a toss about New Year's Eve

I hate it with a passion, I think it stems from my many years working as a nightclub doorman, NYE was always the worst night for trouble usually just after midnight.
It was always the one night you really earned your money.

Candy Bar, that brings back some memories. I used to frequent an electro night there about 10 years back. Was excellent fun.

NYE always spent with family at home either at our house or another's, so we can all include the kids as well.
Hope you all have a great night whatever you are doing and all the best for 2017.:cheery:

Were you in there NYE about 2001. Two sad blokes at the bar not knowing where the gents were?

Ha ha. Nope. I went around 2005/2006. Never did a NYE there. I think they were unisex. I knew a couple of gay blokes who were into electro and they took me and the missus to some excellent parties around this time. Wild times.

Have a great new year.

I'm looking after the grand daughter. Wife is working, daughters have slutted themselves up so I'm here playing with a unicorn and a plastic supermarket checkout:censored::shootself
