You might want to be a bit more specific.

I think a lot of people are keeping the purse strings tight this year so most of the clubs should take you in, hopefully not too busy, although I know the Supercharged event at Audio is a sell out.

Were I off out clubbing I think I'd go for the event taking place at Life on the seafront, the club that used to be Arc. They seem to have a few spaces for different rooms (they're taking over the cafe next door and some storage space under the arches) and it isn't too steep either

I'm about to go out with friends this evening. Fancy some pubbing and clubbing action but hopefully nothing too expensive. What music is it at Life? I remember going to an 80s electro and hip-hop night at the Arc on a Sunday. Great music but only 3 others in there!

Avoid all the main clubs don't go to The True nightclub gosh thats the worst

All main clubs in Brighton are crap as they are very very expensive plus watch out for the Taxi drivers i once got charged 60 pound fron Brighton to Seaford.

I will be in Smugglers then a few more pubs then go home, the clubs are always a big let down in Brighton IMO.

Fireworks? Yep walk into the Hikers in Coldean about 8pm stand on a chair and shout 'You're all a load of nancy boys'. Or the Bev in Moulsecoomb Way.

Anything? Dunno

From the bumph they keep sending me:

New Year's Eve at LIFE

This is LIFE's first NYE party, and we 're going all out to make it Brighton's biggest party this year.

In brief we will have 4 seperate areas incorporating 3 programmed events with their own artist line up and decor. Some of the event will be in spaces adjacent to the LIFE club itself but all our guests will be fully protected from the elements as the entire front of the venue will be covered in a huge heated marquee!

Buy tickets here, £20 each.

NYE LOFT & HOUSE PARTY - Hosted by Maxxi Soundsystem

IDJUT BOYS (3 Hour exclusive NYE set)
Plus support from...
MAXXI SOUNDSYSTEM
JOHNNY ROCKS
ALI BROADCAST
SENOR MICK
AFFY

Upstairs is dedicated to disco, undoubtedly the hottest club sound of 2009, with the legendary IDJUT BOYS joining MSS residents for some serious disco action, New York Loft style. Downstairs, we're throwing a house party complete with a bath full of beers, and a specially decorated living room area not forgetting the kitchen (often the hub of any good house party). It'll lead out to the heated garden marquee area, transforming Life's extensive beach terrace into a weather-proof outdoor garden.

ACID IN THE GARAGE - Hosted by KLIKS and SCHTUMM!

10pm - 3am

KOMPAKT Records
PAN/TONE Live (Sender/Cereal Killers)
LEE SMITH
ANWAR
TOM RIDSDALE

**SECRET GUEST **
SCHTUMM! DJs

We will be overhauling the warehouse/lock-up premises next door to Life for our Acid Garage, a dark, strobe-lit space that's perfect for a raw underground rave. As well as a showcase from local techno heads Kliks and legendary German label Kompakt, micro-warehouse masters and Summer Of Love residents Schtumm! will be rocking up for the late shift with a very special secret guest....

----------------------------------------------

WATERMELON CAFÉ - Hosted by SHE LIKES PARTIES

She Likes Parties DJs
Little Miss Bicks
Dr Dreidal (Popstarz / Shibby Shabblers)
Special LIVE Guests
Rock n Roll/Swing/Watermelon Vodka Bar/Surprises

Our third room is the Watermelon Cafe, hosted by She Likes Parties. If it all gets too much elsewhere, this space is for you - we'll be transforming the kitsch cafe next door into a laidback, classy arena with sofas, drapes, and a shedload of Vodka-filled melons. There'll be live bands (announced via our Facebook event online), and SLP DJs and guests paying rock n' roll, swing and whatever else they fancy.

£60 is a reasonable fare from Brighton to Seafud on New Years Eve/Day as the driver could earn loads more doing local drops in the time it takes to get there and back. :p

Standing in the way of control
All the clubs are full of bellends. The only good thing is that all the promoters get to charge loads more than usual and actually make some money for all their good work during the year. Pubs on the other hand are all super epic funnnn.
