With the American dude leaving who will be following in his footsteps? From the bookies faves to a few dark horses, poll to follow...

Steve Coogan, obviously as Alan Partridge :)

I would never watch Top Gear again if Dermot O'Lairy was a presenter, or Nick Grimshaw.

O'Dreary would be the kiss of death.

Why not just leave the other 2 Chris and Rory to do it with guest contributors doing little bits, Maybe get Sabine doing a little more like when they do the challenges that require 3 people involved.

The show is about the Cars / format the presenters although important shouldn't be the reason you tune in.

Quite. I don't get people who only watched it because of the overweight chain smoking bully whose name momentarily escapes me. I didn't mind the old 'successful' presenters but I'm not exactly mourning them - strange pervy one with long hair, tiny weasel one who seems to like being bullied, and the overweight grumpy old man. Quite funny together but time to move on. Programme is about cars, innit? I found the last couple of years a much easier watch, and with Partridge at the helm what would be not to like?

Meopham, Kent.
Got a bad feeling that it will be either John Bishop or Patrick Kielty.

That would be the final nail for me.

Show is doomed and the BBC should pull the plug IMO

it sold to 150 countries last series, makes a shed load of money for the BBC, and like Dr Who, pays for a lot of the utter tripe on for a lot of the rest of the time! No way are the BBC pulling the plug. Its still one of their most successful shows

Might explain the delay in an announcement with them both involved in and 100% focused on Soccer Aid next weekend.

The Welsh guy who presents Formula 1 on Channel 4 would be my choice
