Ironicly the type of striker mcghee is looking at is the type that has the same sort of strike rate as knight does in league 1

Precicsely. League 1.

Given that we're not currently occupying a relegation spot, I'd be hesitant to say that if we don't sign a striker we'll definitely go down.

That said, I'd feel a lot more confident about our chances of survival if we did bring someone in who can hit the net regularly, unlike any of the current strikers at the club.

We can still loan people until March 23rd so i wouldn't say we are down if we don't get anyone today

anybody that says we are out of the relegation zone with the players we already have are wrong because we have lost what was our top scorer in knight. although i do think it would be possible to stay up without replacing him it would be very unlikely. so im affraid im one of the 71% that say we need a new striker and would not be happy without one.

That is true but if they wouldnt come now why should they come in 6 weeks when our fate may be more clear.

They may be more likely to come out on loan as their club's transfer dealings may have put them down to 8th in the pecking order...just an example

Have the targets that have reputedly turned us down been realistic targets or should we have set our sights lower at Premiership youth or reserve players., who would still be better than we have now.

These players are unproven though so how could you say for a fact that they'd be better than what we've got?

We don't really have the money to take the risk.

What is the answer then if we cant afford to take the risk on players and we can't afford to buy established players do we just muddle along with what we have.

If that is the case why say there is money available to strengthen the squad, when obviously there wasnt sufficient for 1 let alone the 2 or 3 MM wanted.

We can afford to LOAN some established players but they did not want to join,as Mcghee said.
