Leroy Lita has been told he needs to move on after Michael Laudrup revealed the frozen-out striker has snubbed the chance to leave Swansea City on loan.

Lita is currently training with the Swans Under 21 squad having been told he has no future at the Liberty.

The frontman - a £1.5m summer signing from Middlesbrough ahead of the club's Premier League bow - has not featured during Laudrup's time at the helm and spent the majority of last year on loan at both Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday.

The 28-year-old had expected to move when the loan window for Football League clubs opened after the main transfer deadline, but is still in South Wales.

And Laudrup confirmed that is despite interest from Championship clubs he has chosen to wait for the right offer before quitting.

"Leroy had some offers which is normal because in the Championship he has shown he has quality," he said.

"He can score goals there because he has done it before and could do it again.

"But I think he is right now waiting for the right thing because he has had offers from different Championship clubs already. I don't know whether it will happen because it depends on what he wants, but I am hoping so because the player needs to play.

"It's been quite some months without competitive games so I hope for him he can get a move soon because he needs to get on with his career."

Not unhappy with this. He holds the ball up well for a relatively small guy.

Will he start Saturday? I doubt it, more likely on the bench.

Edit: and that's if he gets international clearance in time!

Seems like he has been around forever.

Potentially should bang a few in for us.

Lets face it with one fit striker even Paynter signing would of been improvement

A creditable 108 goals in 350 odd career appearances.

There are 12 games between now and the end of his loan. If he continues at his current scoring record he'll score 3 or 4 goals for us (depending on whether you round up or down). Should be worth ~5 points to us (his goal being the winner once and a draw twice)?

"Leroy Lita. He's so hard he scores with his face"?

Seems like he was keen to come here.

"It is thought that Lita turned down Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday, Bolton and Blackburn to link up with Oscar Garcia Junyent’s Brighton side who find themselves 15th in the Championship after an indifferent start. The 28-year-old will now be hoping to rediscover his impressive goalscoring form in order to fire the Seagulls back into the English top flight."

Bit harsh for Laudrup to say this when he's only just GOT here...

Good, over 70% of those who voted on that poll that we wouldnt get one will now look like MASSIVE idiots

It doesn't show that at all. It just shows that 70% of people who bothered to answer a survey on a message board have no trust left in the club's communications. That's neither a good thing not a reason for celebration.

Getting Lita in is though. Great shout and happy to be wrong.

Pretty solid signing? I think so. Does know where the goal is, and like others have said, holds up the ball well and will be more of the fox in the box that we've been missing since CMS' injury. Nice bit of poaching to look forward to. (I hope)

I think we have to be realistic about what we can expect from what is available and what we can afford.

Don't think Lita will be revelation here, but he is certainly a welcome addition in that we now have TWO fit strikers instead of one.

If he can share the line-leading duties and chip in with the odd goal, I'll be happy enough.
