Is this even how it works ? Who are the ‘striker’ coaches at other clubs?

Given Maupay has scored a lot of goals in the championship but looks like we will struggle to get more than 12 a season in the PL it doesn’t look like ability to score is a problem in his career until now.

The problem appears to be composure, handling the pressure and confidence which seems much more difficult thing to ‘fix’.

I still say we have always struggle because our midfielders can’t shoot (Propper / Stephens had it, Bissouma averages 1 goal a season the rest fly miles over the bar) , big defenders don’t score enough from set pieces etc

Maupays managers:
In Nice, he had Claude Puel, who among other things took Lyon to the CL semi final and finished 8th with Southampton. In Saint Etienne he had Christophe Galtier who only little over a year ago was named manager of the year in France. In Brentford, he had Dean Smith (allegedly much better at coaching strikers) and Thomas Frank (who some see as Potters replacement).

Welbecks managers:
Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger. To mention two.

Isnt it fascinating that apparently none of these people could coach Maupay / Welbeck how to score goals?

Or maybe, just maybe, things are a little bit more complicated than that.

Whoever the striking coach is (?) he should resign and hand back the salary he has robbed. Yes only partially his fault as he isn't on the pitch but something is very badly wrong.

As for the strikers on the pitch, they should be ashamed of themselves. Instead they will pick up a weekly wage more than many earn in a year for being totally incompetent at their job.

this is how i feel at the moment .....****ing gutted
