[Football] New stadium plans at Birmingham City

Absolutely no links or plans to get an NFL franchise based in Birmingham....never has been.
As mentioned, there have been whispers of the Jags moving to London for years, but it will NOT happen. They've been kicking it around for far too long now for anything to come of it - and the NFL missed the window they had to get plans in place IMO (not that there was much a of a window anyway...its such a bad idea).
Brady came on board as a very minor shareholder at BCFC and has no plans on expanding that role as far as Im aware from the interviews he has done.
The new owner, Tom Wagner, has mentioned this NFL link several times. I don’t really follow it so don’t know for sure, but I’d be stunned if there wasn’t some plans along those lines, even if just the odd game.

Are they really that big? Three other huge clubs to compete with in their city. Also a city which I imagine has a huge following of cricket based on the demographic.

Brum have always seemed like a very dull club to support to me.

2.7m demographic, plenty of room for a competitor to Villa.

Things move on, but I like it when stadia improve on their historic site. Molyneux, WHL, Anfield will always have that. Arsenal and AbuDhabi won’t.

Not lumping us in, as an asset stripper stole ours.

That I agree with. But I love old school grounds.

Anyway, I am currently in Chicago and it is 9.35pm here, 3.35am where you are! What’s going on man?! Lol

I understand they once took nearly 50,000 to Wembley for an Auto Windscreens final, incredible support. Still over 20,000 every week without fail despite looking like dropping to League One. They are a big club, not Villa big but definitely bigger than Wolverhampton and West Bromwich.

Birmingham City are currently in the relegation zone. When they sacked John Eustace in October they were 6th.

Anyone get the feeling that some of these American owners just don't 'get' English football ?

Chicago is an amazing city. Have fun

PS I will be disappointed if you don’t start a “Anyone know a bar in Chicago showing the game” thread.

I won't miss St Andrews. One of the dreariest grounds in the country, and that lugubrious version of 'Keep Right On To The End Of The Road' sung in a Brummie accent ...

One of the best football songs around. Each to their own. Let’s all sing the template songs instead, you’ll love it at Watford, Bournemouth, QPR, Fulham …. I never tire of that old favourite ‘xxxx is a shithole, I wanna go home’.

Not this again. 6th was about 2 points above 15th at the time. The mistake was appointing Rooney, no doubt.

No he's right, KRO is boring dirge. Plenty of decent non template songs around. KRO isn't one of them.

Couldn’t disagree more. My favourite non-Albion football song. Loads of history from the club‘s past and WW1, some great phrases in that song that resonate with the fans. Unique too in terms of no one else singing it. But if you don’t like it you don’t like it.
