I've been contacted by a chap who has set up a new gambling site and wants some help with testing. It looks quite interesting so said some NSCers might be willing to help. Please take a look if you get the chance. Feel free to post any feedback below, but please try and be constructive.

If gambling is not your thing, kindly move on, there is no need to share...

Hi Darren,

I am looking for beta testers for a site we are launching called Mates Odds. It is a site that allows friends to bet with each other. It will also allow members of the forum to place and record bets with each other. No money passes through the site, and it is completely free to use.

To be the the first to know and to lend us a helping hand, go to http://www.matesodds.com to sign-up and give it a test drive...

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Michael

From the looks of it, you have to approach someone else and then offer them a bet, and then have them accept it.
It's a bit like having a friendly bet with a mate in pub, where you reckon Arsenal will win teh league, they don't, so you have a £5 on it.

dunno, all i could see that there was one other person (the bloke who runs it) online at that moment.

you can search for them, but you need to know who they are in the first place. Bit like facebook style.

Have signed up, though it looks very similar to the sort of thing that Flutter was trying to do about seven years ago. It didn't work then with £5 million quid of misguided venture capital behind it, so can't really see why it should now. After all, if I keep taking money off my mates, how much longer are they going to be my mates for?

He must be very keen to be your mate. Only 3.8-1 for a top four on Betfair.
