Like the shirt, which along with the new shorts and socks completes an all round good look. But that collar is an abomination

Wonder what it would look like without the white collar leaving it 90's 'Grandad' style- can anyone do a mock up?

Might just buy it and cut the collar off...

I'll set myself up for a shoeing but never mind. I really don't like striped kits. I know it is us and over the years I have bought and worn well over a dozen of them. And picked it in computer games, fantasy leagues and anything else where you choose a kit. And I am not sure I want a permanent change despite my views. But for a short term change, I like it.

I’m pretty sure you can fold the collar in on it self

Nah I want to cut it off and burn it in a fire as an offering to the football shirt gods as an apology for that abomination of a collar. 'Forgive Nike they know not what they do'

No i actually get what you mean, for some reason, I just can't disassociate stripes with lower league.

You mean lower league like AC Milan, Juventus or Barcelona? Personally I can't dissociate stripes from two promotions to the top division, beating Palace 3-0 on Boxing Day, Peter Ward and Brian Horton in their pomp ...

They'll be back next year, I suppose, with loads of PR from the club about 'returning to tradition'. In the meantime we have to spend a season looking like Peterborough but with a worse collar.

First season for me was 74/75 which was all white.
I loath this new kit because we have been in stripes for 30 odd years and because it could be anyone that plays in blue.

I suspect much of the love comes from wearing it in the FA Cup final, but we got relegated wearing it which was the first step on the road that took us to the gates of oblivion.

Not exactly. We were relegated wearing the plain blue adidas kit with the big floppy collar (a bad omen). We were already down when the shirt with the red and white pinstripes made its debut in the final. But it was another step on a slippery slope.

Could've been a really nice kit, but Nike's need for there logo to stand out has ruined it. If the swoosh and sides were white instead of gold it'd be a big improvement.

Have never really liked Nike sportswear and really wish Adidas  produced our kits. Then we could have had a beauty like this styled for us (but in our colours, obvs.).

Best home kit since the original Skint shirt and the first I've bought in 4 years. I love our away shirts every season but our home attempts have been crap.....this will be the best selling ever I reckon.

Really? But Albion play in stripes; that is the law...

To be fair, I was quite taken with the idea of a return to solid blue with pinstripes when it became increasingly apparent yesterday that that is where we were headed.

It's just the execution of what should be a fairly simple brief is so naff and cheap-looking. Fair play to Nike though, I really didn't think they could screw up something so straightforward but they have risen to the challenge quite magnificently. It looks like something old men would wear to play indoor carpet bowls.

Oh well, I suppose it's just a footy shirt.

Is there anything we can do to force the club to bin it? It’s a horrid shirt that really isn’t us.

Almost certainly not. Especially as this poll shows 66% in favour of it. I know NSC is a very small %age of fans, but if that were reflected across the board then it would have got a favourable result.
