anyoine see the coastal walks programme last night with that bit off fluff offa Watchdog. She is doing the walk from Robins Bay on the West Coast, over the lake district and finishing up on the East Coast some 180 miles later.

I think its following someone called Wainwright.

It was really interesting and England has some beautiful scenery around the lakes

Everyone knows that the ENTIRE coast of Britain consists of white cliffs, built by God to keep Johnny Foreigner at bay. All this nonsense about beaches and estuaries is political correctness gone MAD.

No you miss the point. The title sequence shows Oxford Street full of multicultural Britons, which is admittedly linked to our rise as a maritime power and consequent imperialism, or the influx of waves of mainland europeans who were a cigarette paper away from the existing population ethnically. Its just SO predictably and boringly BBC to think that thats the most important thing about being an Island nation with no significant invasions for 900+ years, is that black people live here now.

Dont take me for a dummy, I know my history of this country. Its the BBC who try and distort it.

Anyway its just a little dig at the BBC. And a a light hearted comment from me. dont score easy points if they are not going to count.

sorry but the Scotch boy ruins it for me. I cannot watch him.

I think he is one of the best presenters by a mile on BBC very easy going and knowledgeable about the subject he presents.

NB No-one beats Dr Alice though, she is just so fantastic......................

Still not enought about Brighton, faaaaar too much about that film bollocks.

You obviously weren't paying attention about the "film bollocks". Hollywood could have grown up in good old Sussex by the sea.

Just watched it on the digibox and words fail me at how fabulous this series is - absolutely worth the licence fee alone.

Well done the Beeb

You surely can't deny the flairness of his hair?

No it is very impressive.

He is the worlds grooviest Groovy Geography Teacher. If he lived in Hanover, drank in the Greys and drove a hybrid car, it would not surprise me one bit.

Thought last night's in Norway was one of the best ever. It covered everything: history, geology, practical science, wildlife and Nazis. The stuff about Norwegian gas was all new to me.

And it had the lovely Dr Alice... what more could anyone want?

Don't worry Gwylan, I'm not going to follow you around, all day, as off to work in a moment.

But I too enjoyed it apart from mental bloke, at the boat builders.
I realise he was excited to be there, but someone should have toned him down a little. He was doing my head in.
Why he didn't just pull his pants down and have man love with that boat, is beyond me.
It might have made the rest of the piece bearable.

Albion stems from the old name for England and it's white cliffs, does it not?
