The problem now is a new manager will have different ideas of how to achieve promotion which could mean wholesale changes in the playing squad to accomodate a new formation this will cost money which we do not appear to have so perhaps the hierarchy have made a mistake not granting Oscar a couple if the players he wanted. We were about 2 players off being good enough for automatic promotion but now could be 6 or 8 depending on who the new manager wants to play his way.

Totally agree, imagine how long it will take to bed in 5-6 new players & a new manager. The core of the side is good, this said maybe some of the players who are not playing for the shirt so to speak arent because the manager wasnt getting the best out of them. Look at Derby and Burnley for great examples of this!

So it's Calderon as manager for his passion and commitment to the club supported by Neil Warnock to bring some nous and experience.
Keep as many players as we can and plug the gaps with free transfers.

New season. New beginning.

There are plenty of managers that want their teams to play a certain way, i.e. similar to GP and OG. The hierarchy will have no trouble getting someone that will adhere to that, because that is the way the club is now structured, from the first team, all the way down to the AITC Saturday clubs.

There is also a lot of hot air on here – "shambles of a club" "[insert name here] OUT", etc. We've just managed to get into the playoffs two years in a row in the Championship – a division in which we've, historically, not being regulars. Maybe people expect too much? Maybe Oscar wanted too much? There are managers that can work with a club who doesn't want to splash the cash - Oscar managed it to an extent, but I understand his frustrations, if they turn out to be at the root of why he left.

However, why can't people chill out a bit and realise that we are not about to go out of business; we are still in the championship; we have the potential to play some great football with quality players (when fit) and, we have, with the academy, a really bright future?

Me? I'm looking forward to next season already. Not spending so much time among the doom and gloom on here will probably heighten that feeling further… :albion2:
