We'd be doing that if there was a teeny bit of bloody sunshine, it's so annoying. Apparently winter babies are more prone to jaundice.

He had his second test today, and the bilirubin level is down, thankfully, cos he's been feeding better. Think all will be ok, though he is still a bit yellow :(

.

Good that it's coming down - jaundice is a funny thing! I love the yellow eyes. I had it as a baby!

Good stuff - sounds like it will be ok! Not nice though...especially when the whites of their eyes are yellow - quite scary! Got a grow lamp?

My daughter was put under a lamp in the special care baby unit when she got jaundice. She even had little covers over her eyes looking for all the world as though she was laying on a beach. She had that treatment for 3 days so came home with a sun tan.

It is literally like lying under a sunbed, isn't it?! Three days? Wow, that's a nice little holiday! It's amazing how that does the same as mother's breast milk in flushing out the bilirubin. Crazy stuff.

its called Phototherapy I think? Brilliant invention!!

Mt problem was I'm officially the worst breast feeder in the world :nono: had to end up topping him up with formula and then eventually he decided my only working side was just not cutting the mustard! Oh well... He's a super healthy lad now and thats all that matters....
