Looks like plenty of capacity, loads of seating, presumably plenty of catering (no indication it’s just the existing ones), toilets……pretty significant imo. What were you expecting ?
You’re getting suckered in by the artists impressions is all I’m saying. They’re working in a pretty small foot print. It’s not going to have ‘plenty of catering’ nor ‘loads of seating’ certainly not enough to satisfy demand at half 2 on a Saturday.

Not a problem - just observing some getting carried away already

Assuming planning won’t be an issue, but I can’t recall why the hotel planning was rejected a couple of years back?
.

As the hotel didn’t fit in with the surrounding area. So it’s interesting to see this has a nice sloped roof to complement the shape of the Amex from afar.

True but it doesn’t look like it going to be a huge venue so probably more for smaller gigs. Maybe even just included it in the plans just to cover all bases.
Fair point. I’m now thinking they probably mean things like those “Dancing through the decades” Xmas events as opposed to Black MIDI and The Oh Sees :lolol:

Not ’suckered in’ or ‘carried away’ at all……..just looks much better than what we have  Still, crack on with your negativity

Looks good, and a great addition to the Amex match day.

Thumbs up from me.

Not sure why so many posters are stressing over the music venue aspect. It’s not like they’re trying to host U2 or Taylor Swift and compete with the Las Vegas Eye or Wembley stadium. DJs, local-ish bands, the odd party night, surely - just another way to use the venue now and again, and create other revenue streams. Seems sensible and achievable to me.

Regardless of the capacity or whether I'd be able to get a seat it will just be amazing to grab a beer, some food and be able to use a toilet pre match.

My preference is always to enter the stadium as late as possible, my first memories of Brighton games was the buzz of walking on to the stands when it was already packed out. Currently I arrive stupidly early, have a few pints until my middle aged bladder let's me down, then I end up sitting in the stands at 230 like a tourist.

Fingers crossed they get planning for this. It’s a great looking space and appreciate with Dicks going it’s going to be rammed before kick off but will provide some much needed cover, more food/drink options and toilet facilities. It would tempt me to come over early for the odd game . How many grounds have something like this?

True. But they’d need to block out a lot of dates to deal with scheduled games, potential movement of these scheduled games, potential involvement in all cups plus the potential European fixtures in the coming season. Seems unworkable to me apart from the summer months.
Plus weekends when we are playing away and international breaks.

Just checked the B&H website for the planning application/details, but not there yet (to save any of you the bother).
Nice work. You are now the designated planning correspondent for this project. Full reports on the NSC desk to be submitted within one hour of every development please. Please note this is an unpaid position. 😉

I think they already have planning permission for a previous plans/designs but these look very different.

Man City have something slimilar outside the Etihad.

This looks great! A good spot outside the stadium to drink and socialise with others; I’m excited. There will be live music too which is a bonus. All in all, a good investment by the club - UTA!

Seems like very little increase in number of current outlets if any of the structure is more than two bogs.
Upstairs possibly as big as dicks bar( which does have decent bog access).

It does provide a bit more shelter outside but this is all about more corporate real estate in the stadium.

True. But if you woke up this morning and want to schedule a tour for August 2024 onwards, you won’t know at the moment which games are away.

To be honest I think I got over excited when I saw “music gigs” and envisaged a regular gig venue to add to the likes of Chalk, Hope and Ruin etc. This would be the absolute dream ticket for me. Imagine watch the Albion thump Man U then stepping over the way to see The Soft Moon?

As I said in an earlier post it’s more likely to be “Dancing Through The Decades” and “The Blues Brothers Experience” than Black Midi and Oh Sees.
