Would people be pleased with Mcclean as our main striker? He never struck me as particularly well rounded - just a bit of a workhouse a la heskey. Any other opinions?

Heskey ? isn't he 5'7'' ?

we need a couple of signings now please gus and a big stong centre forward that can hold the ball up and get people in the game

mate, the days of a big fella up front to hold the ball up have thankfully gone at Brighton. We have a south ameriican manager. Shock of shock he actually plans to ask the players to control the ball, pass it to a bloke in the same shirt, then move into space to receive the ball back again. I just wish the england team would catch up with us. We don't need someone to "hold the ball up", or "run the channels", or "make surging runs" or and above all "have a good engine". Graham Taylor can stay at Watford, Adams at Port Val, and we can play football under Poyet.

Strange that, as Gus made a point of saying at least one of the recent signings had a 'good engine'.

A goal nearly every two games and previously slapped with a 3 million tag? Wouldve thought he was out of our league but you never know...

I cant believe that us, little old Brighton from the third division are going to pay £3M for a player. Surely, this cant be right??

Don't get me wrong I'd love it if it was to materialized! Also I've seen blogs over the net that Birmingham are looking at him as well as other premier league teams are interested!

I can't believe that he'd opt for us who are in the lower leagues?!

What happened to the supposed millions we had to spend... ??? So far we have sold Crofts and Dickinson for around half a mill and also lost big wage earners in Virgo, Cox , FDM, also what crofts and Dicko were paid as well and a number of others.... with the players we signed i'd doubt we have even taken up the slack in the wages freed up...
