Albion expect to add to the capture of Oldham striker Craig Davies today before the transfer window shuts at 5pm.
Boss Micky Adams said: “The Board and the chairman have backed me superbly. He (Davies) won’t be the only one coming in on Monday.
“Hopefully by Tuesday we may have two or three new faces in the squad.”
The Argus revealed last week Albion’s interest in buying both Davies and Leeds United’s 23-year-old Australian international midfielder Neil Kilkenny.
They are also still eager to sign a left-back after agreeing a £150,000 fee with cash-strapped Stockport for Jim McNulty, only for the deal to be dashed by the player’s reluctance to discuss moving south.
Davies, 23, signs for Albion today on a two-and-a-half year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The Welsh international scored 13 goals in 41 games for Oldham last season before falling out with manager John Sheridan, and six in 13 on loan to Stockport earlier this season.
Adams said: “I am delighted to get him, because he is somebody who has always intrigued me, particularly at this level.
“He was a real handful for us when he played for Oldham and Stockport. He has got pace and power and a little bit of unfulfilled potential as well.
“We have not scored enough goals and I cannot keep relying on the same old people to come up with the goods.
“If you are not scoring too many goals we have got to look at other players and other avenues.”
Adams insists the captures of Davies and Calvin Andrew on loan from Crystal Palace do not signal the departure of Glenn Murray.
“We have got no intention of selling Glenn Murray,” he said. “We’ve had no enquiries for him. He’s injured at the moment and I don’t think anybody is going to buy someone who is injured.
“We don’t know how long he will be out for yet. He is not back in training, so you have got to say it will be two or three weeks.”
Jake Robinson could still be on his way today if he can agree personal terms with Aldershot or one of several other League Two clubs believed to be interested in him
