Paddy McCourt was Kung Fu Fighting
He only drinks white lightning
In fact, he looks a little bit frightening
But he’s got expert timing

Ring a ring of roses
The balls on Paddy’s toesies
Big Issue, Big Issue
You’re going down

To the tune of the Adams Family

He looks creepy like a spider
His beard's growing even wider
He looks like he drinks cider
He's Paddy from Derry
Paddy McCourt (clap clap)
Paddy McCourt (clap clap)

Know it's early days 'n all, but if we're going to give him a song, think the Derry Pele would appreciate a nod to Derry's most famous musical sons, The Undertones..two options...to the tune of 'Teenage Kicks':

Pat McCourt's so hard to beat
Every time the ball's at his feet
The Derry Pele is one cool dude
He's in our team, it feels so good

He makes defenders look like shite
Paddy McCourt is dynamite, alright!

...or to the chorus of 'Jimmy Jimmy', we could just sing 'Paddy Paddy'...
You mean Teenage Kicks and not Jimmy Jimmy All that time I wasted trying to scan your lyrics!

'Don't drop McCourt, Paddy McCourt
I just don't think you understand
That if you drop McCourt, Paddy McCourt
Your gonna have a riot on your hands'

Fits the syllables of the song much better!!

Correct - this really should be the song!

I can't be doing with that Achy Breaky Heart song as a football chant.

Why use his old song anyway? A new one would be much better.

Indeed...realise that my original suggestion to come up with something based on an Undertones song was a bit of a wild card but as Paddy's a proud Derryman, sure he'd appreciate us making the effort!

He has a bit of Robin Friday about him. Could we use "the man don't give a feck" his Super Furry Animals tribute.?

Good call! Definitely see Paddy has being cut from the cloth as 70s mavericks like Best, Bowles, Marsh, Currie etc and he certainly seems to have been a cult hero at every club he's been at...will be exciting to see how his Albion career progresses...
