Strange but clean? No need for the words..

Annoyingly this is an absolute beauty compared to their ridiculous Jester hat home shirt. This would have been a 10/10 from me if it were not for the words on the sash. Typical Palace just when they get close to do something right they still manage to spoil it.

First of all they spell Crystal ‘Chrystal’ on the badge
Then they spell 2010 ‘1861’ in relation to when the club started.

Someone needs to improve their poofreading at Selhurst.

It’s a nice shirt that, but for the pointless inclusion of the ‘worlds oldest club’ lie, printed all over it.
some of the replies to the worlds oldest club claptrap on Footballshirtculture are interesting (anyone know anything about these?)

history lesson

This clubs origins do NOT date from 1861. The FIRST Crystal Palace club also did not play in sky blue. The CURRENT club was founded in 1905 as a NEW CLUB!

The original Crystal Palace club were originally known as the 'Shrub Rocketeers AFC' and were founded by a gang 'Hot Tin Roofers' in 1779. The gang were known for their high jinks and silky skills. They were also hard drinking , fighting men who loved nothing more than going to the docks and wrestling with sailors. The name Crystal Palace was taken from a local bar where local men gathered to watch monkeys fight to the death wearing small boxing gloves in a wooden crate whilst sea shanty's played non-stop in the background..

The kit’s nice but they need to stop this whole “Crystal Palace we’re founded in 1861” stuff - it was debunked ages ago and it’s a bit pathetic that they keep persisting with it as though everyone believes it

Crystal Palace were founded by a sewing group in 1822 in South Lanarkshire. Originally known as 'South Lanarkshire Quilters' they relocated to London because of the 'Scottish Sheep Famine' in 1907. The name Crystal Palace was taken from a local tea shop which many of the team frequented after training.

So they are still peddling this lie. It is genuinely weird. Even the Crystal Palace archivist has said that their is no link between the two clubs.

This Crystal Palace was founded in 1905 by a landlord hoping to cash in on the growing popularity of football. He literally stole the name. That is the only link.

This version of Crystal Palace did not even play in London until Croydon was incorporated as a Greater London borough in 1965. If they had any shame, they would drop all this nonsense and rebrand themselves as Croydon FC, the ‘Pride of Greater South London’.

The sash represents the parting of the social classes during the English Civil war of 1684. Crystal Palace were invented a year later by Miners who marched to London in protest and stayed because the pies were nicer.

Th clubs are connected! In 1826 Randwick Crevice invented the piston steam hammer and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. With his new found wealth he purchased the largest balloon making factory in the Northern Hemisphere with the aim of making a balloon so large, it could take a man to the moon. On 16th December 1853, Randwick and his faithful chimpanzee, Graham set off from his factory in Shropshire on a trip to the moon. The balloon reached approximately 11 miles from Ipswich Town Centre before it exploded, killing both Randwick and Graham. This circumstantial evidence proves that Crystal Palace Football Club was originally owned by the first man who never got any near the moon on a balloon.

The sash ruins it - no place for sashes unless you are Peru in my opinion.

Probably been noted before but if the fantasy football league is anything to go buy our new home shirts are all blue with white sleeves! Pitchforks at the ready.
