New Keeper?

Yup, agree.

One has good agility, reflexes and communication skills with his defence, the other is capable of attracting a stunning girlfriend.

What a wow of a guy that would be...

Michel "Away Away" Kuipers. Hmmm, not exactly what I would call good communication skills. Probably about as good as his distribution with his toblerone boots. Also, the way which he is always looking for the opportunity for a quick counter-attack :nono:.

Sorry, IMO, there's a lot wrong about Kuipers (and it's only my opinion). Yes, Henderson did make mistakes, but I feel was overall a better keeper than Kuipers.

I am going to come across here a bit like Billy the Fish (see 'Gay Pride' thread), and talk about one's own universe compared to NSC.

I have yet to come across anyone in the real world (as opposed to on here) who is prepared to defend Henderson. I'm not even talking in comparison to Kuipers - that's a separate issue. He was uncommunicative to his defence, his kicking was poor, his mistakes both costly and avoidable, and ultimately his professional behaviour and conduct appalling and embarrassing. The fact he is an international is largely irrelevant - to me it says far more about the Rep of Ireland's goalkeeping situation than it does his talent. I'm sure he can improve, but then, he has to.

I know this is all about opinions and stuff, and it's an old hackneyed thing that's been done to death, but I feel Henderson did us (the club) an enormous favour by going.

Funny old world NSC, innit?

For what it's worth, he do definitely need another goalkeeper to ensure Kuipers' place is constantly under threat and, if he plays like he did against Fulham (and it was a pisspoor game for him admittedly - a couple of blinding saves notwithstadning), FDM won't be getting too many games this season.

after the last 20 minutes of the Fulham game, a new keeper is an absolute priority I would say

Agree completely.

Made one top class save but both goals were poor on his part and his catching was not up to scratch.

Probably because anyone with any sense would not bother getting into a discussion with you...

Sooner or later, Sullivan has to be given a chance. If he's not ready now, will he ever be? I do agree we need a competant goalkeeper to provide Michel with some competition, and if Sullivan is not that, then I suppose we do need to sign someone. What will be totally disgraceful is if we sign an established keeper on (by our standards) big money, when that money could so obviously be put to better use in midfield.

Agree with ALL of that... we need to strengthen the midfield, and not waste money (again) on a new keeper...

How did you rate him, Adrie? Would you have not needed to see him play?

I haven't seen much of Sullivan, but he does look a bit nervy and maybe his handling is not what it could be. Warming up before matches, his handling looks a bit suspect. Keepers peak much later, so he has time on his side.

We do need another keeper to take on Kuipers. He did look a bit dodgy vs Fulham. Simple stuff like coming for a cross was unusually difficult for him. Good shot stopper, but lacks in other departments.

He made one of the best saves at Withdean... ever! When did he mess-up coming for crosses?

Thanks to everyone here we are left with Kuipers when we could have had Henderson who is a million times better and a current international

Thanks to everyone here!!... what the fcuk are you talking about... after his umpteenth mistake, some of the crowd turned on him... whilst I don't agree with having a go at players that are playing for Brighton, I can understand why some people gave him stick... he more than deserved it...

Current 3RD CHOICE international...

Oh, and Henderson flounced... he behaved like someone who thinks he is better than he actually is... good fcuking riddance...

Wrong we need a new No 1 goalkeeper and have Kuipers as back up.

Can you imagine the flack that Henderson would have taken had he conceeded the 2nd goal against Fulham or charged around his box missing everything like FDM did on Friday evening, on at least 3 occassions.

Disagree... we need backup, and Sullivan will do... what we really need is midfield strengthening...

It was a top save, but I don't think the best ever. He may well be in the running for that one, although I have a save from Big Nev in mind.

He came for a cross and got nowhere near it and then about 5 minutes later dropped a simple ball, but luckily managed to recover it.

I think he is a decent keeper to have at this level, but we do need some competition for the shirt. Winterton is on loan and Sullivan has played 0 games. Will we have enough points to play with and risk throwing Sully in if Michel loses form or gets injured...?

That's because you don't listen. I have always stuck up for Henderson. He made a few mistakes but just as many as Kuipers. In fact his average was better than Kuipers.
My Preston mate rates him and he's done well at international level. He is Preston's number one now in the Championship.

It is fashionable on here to make out that he was useless and to laugh at him.

No he cost Preston a place in the play offs.....

Kuipers was the third best goal keeper to play for Brighton last year.

The reason he has to make all these "top class saves" is because his postioning is so bad.

IF FDM gets injured, get a loan (not difficult)...
